Please help out if you can guys, either through signing and spreading the word or through a donation. This isn't just some silly petition site, this is being run by Planned Parenthood themselves.
Planned Parenthood already cannot use federal funding for abortions, so if anyone tells you that they do it is a LIE. Only private donations can be used for that. (And even then not all Planned Parenthood's do the procedure.) The federal funding is used for basic health care such as cancer screenings, STI testing and prevention, birth control, etc. So regardless of where you stand on the abortion issue this is something that should be of interest to you. I'm one of those people who relies on Planned Parenthood for my most basic health care, and I know I'm not the only one. There are numerous people who rely on Planned Parenthood for these things. Prevention of unplanned pregnancies and the spread of STI's/STD's, and even helping catch cancer early is a very important cause that these people fight for. In the long run it is cheaper to prevent these things than it is to treat them when they occur, and if this were to pass it would be a devastating blow to millions.
I'm hoping after my current commissions are finished (I'm getting closer and closer by the day in between my school requirements) to reopen and donate a portion of the profits to them to help support the cause. The past few bills that have come up are a full blown assault against women's health, and I say this as someone who does have some conservative views. This is outrageous, and to me personally, unforgivable.

I still think they should have funds for abortions, but really, this from what you say is all about abortion. So it's silly to imply that it effects everyone regardless of thier stance on abortion. Someone who is adamantly opposed to abortion may very well have a vested interest in keeping donations out of PP's hands.
I don't understand the mindset of "its simply about abortion" when its clearly not, its about them losing their federal funding and needing resources to try and stop it from happening. Its a slippery slope fallacy to assume if Planned Parenthood ever receives donations it will be used on abortions. Just because only private donations CAN be used for abortions doesn't mean they always are. o_O Especially in a case like this where they're asking for donations for a specific cause, its facepalm worthy. (And if someone is so paranoid as to assume all donations are used for abortions, they don't have to donate but can still sign since its not like this situation is about overturning the ban on federal funding for abortions.) So yeah, maybe if they're that paranoid donations can bother them, but if that stretches into wanting their federal funding gone altogether than that is not the same thing as just being anti-abortion.
Even if someone isn't pro-choice, I bet they aren't pro-cancer. What's cheaper? A pap-smear or chemotherapy? Questions like this are what the situation is truly about, not abortion, so that is why your stance in the end shouldn't matter because the abortion issue isn't what they're advocating for or trying to protect at this moment.
I wish I had money to help out. I've made use of their services before.
