If you listen, you can hear the beats: 1 & 2 & 3 & & 1 & 2 & 3 & & 7/8 time signature
If you're familiar with music theory, you start to hear these kinds of things in all music as you listen.
This one is especially cool!
Agreed, the odd time sig's like this really add depth to a song. I haven't played an instrument since high school though, now you're bringing back nostalgic times. ;)
You're right though: the odd time signatures like 7/8 & 5/4 make for interesting and unusual songs. Unfortunately, they tend to be harder to keep track of like this one is (songs like the mission impossible theme and Take Five are the exceptions to this rule).
I see it as this not being your thing music-wise. I've had friends go "Dude, you'll love this!", and it's some 8 minute long techno song. A good song, but not something I'd listen to more than once a week. Everyone has their own tastes! :)
Ah Two Steps from Hell is pretty epic. A friend of mine introduced me to their music last year. It's hard to find something they did that ISN'T epic :D
Honestly, the music in Star Craft was amazingly impressive. Hell, alot of games I play have an amazing soundtrack to them. You just need to search.. Everytime you hear something like this, it's exactly what he said.. An eargasm.. <3~
No this song isn't from StarCraft II.
It's an awesome, epic band. They have something to do with blizzard, because they give permission to Paragon (one of the best WoW raidgroups) to use their music for bossfight-videos.
Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGeY.....eature=related
There is great bossmusic in it, too.
But that's the only reason why there is a picture of StarCraft, I guess... O.o
I love Two Steps from hell, and I haven't heard this one before. I hear bits of my favorite song from them "To Glory" scattered into this one too. Awesome find!!
By 3:00 I actually had tears in my eyes, It was THAT good! And then that lady at 3:07....something about that almost pained, 'lost-a-lover' kind of cry...*Shudders*
it sounds amazing so far 8D
The soundtrack is really good.
ITS FUCKING 11:20 PM.
AND NOW I WANT TO EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE.
Normally I just get the album in bed after spending a nice night with it.
To listen to until I fall asleep, of course.

Mrrrrrr, odd time signatures are my drug
Not to mention, this guy has good taste, browsing through the assortment of "Greatest Battle Music of All Times"
If you find a source for their music, let me know, a friend is killing for the eq2 one.

... It's go time.
And the music that follows, well.. sounds like this.
So, for another example, I humbiliy offer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3TYNXD5HfU
Also "I WANT TO DO EVERYHING ALL AT ONCE" - absolutely.
Wouldn't mind hearing this kind of stuff in games more often.... :/
and es their making epic music ^^

now excuse me while I go destroy some fools in battlefield: BC2 to this song.
On the music: Yeah, that's pretty dang good. If I had speakers or earphones, I'm sure it would sound even better (laptop speakers. Haters of music).
Now thats a battle theme
Epic music is Epic to draw too. ;)
I still hold ME2's Suicide Run as a fantastically overly epic sounding track.
