Just whipped this up on a whim... may do something with this later when I have time, but wanted to post it here and see what all you MLP:FiM fans think.

THE BRONIES OF HIGH CHAPARRAL
The Bronies are discovered when Twilight Sparkle uncovers a page missing from a book, in Ponyville’s library. Determined to recover the book, she and Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie journey towards the Valley of Pines. In the course of which, Pinkie gets separated and lost amid a sudden thunderstorm; during which she takes a terrible fright and is injured. Before she can come to any greater harm, Duster finds her and takes her back to High Chaparral.
The following morning, after being seen to by Rusty and meeting Big D. and the other Bronies she is comforted and given the means to get over her fright. When recovered, she tells the Bronies of her friends, still lost in the Valley. Big D., Duster and the Twins head to the Valley to find the other three Ponies -- rescuing them from one of the larger dangers of the Valley; a massive, feral feline called Ol’ Dagger.
With Twilight Sparkle and the others safe, the Bronies take them back to High Chaparral. After they arrive, it’s discovered the page is from the ancient book that Big D. and the Bronies are guarding. While they aren’t able to return to Ponyville with the book, they are able to keep ties with the Bronies -- who now have a place to sell their marketable foodstuffs and stockpiled supplies. Big D. and Pinkie Pie especially form a strong friendship after this adventure.
VALLEY OF PINES -- A part of the Evergreen Forest, which reaches far off into a place seldom seen by Ponies of Equestria. The Valley is dark and somewhat unknown, and is host to several creatures that -- if provoked -- can be considered a threat to any Pony. A lone, long road did twist its way through the Valley, but it’s very rarely traveled any more.
SUNTWISTER DESERT -- A massive, dry desert that borders the lands of the far Evergreen Forest, with the closest part being the Valley of Pines. No Pony has ever dared to attempt to cross it.
MONOLITH MESA -- A high, large spur of land that rises from the floor of the Suntwister Desert; it connects to the Valley of Pines. Because of this, a good portion of the Mesa is arable farming land. It’s here that some adventurous and steadfast Ponies established a homestead and made it prosper.
HIGH CHAPARRAL -- The Homestead founded by seven Ponies who wanted to establish a working and prosperous farming town; it grew into the wide and flourishing farming town that it is now. The foals left by these seven are now grown and run and support the farm as their own. High Chaparral also hosts a rare and valuable book -- The Homesteader’s Journal. Their founding father, the original Big Daddy and his fellow homesteaders undertook guarding the book many years ago, but since their passing (Big D. references him and the other elders “no longer being with us now.”), it is up to the Bronies to take charge and keep the homestead safe and running.
The Bronies are six in number, with each one specializing in a specific task on the farm.
BIG D.
Male
Pony Type -- Earth
Eyes -- Blue
Colors -- Roan coat with Cream “socks”,
Mane ./ Tail -- Straight, with a Forelock with one curl; Cream colored.
Distinguishing Feature(s) -- Thick Muzzle/Face (like Big Macintosh). Speaks with a Baritone voice.
Accessories -- White duster-styled hat, blue kerchief around his neck.
Cutie Mark -- Single Silver five-point Star.
The son of the original Big Daddy, and leader of the Bronies. He’s a big pony, (as tall as Big Macintosh). Rock-steady, dependable and somewhat soft-spoken, he doesn’t hesitate to speak up when the situation demands it. He never shirks work or responsibilities, and is the unspoken Pony-in-Charge of the farmstead. He also sings (some country and blues) and is a great friend to everyone . . . though he does have a problem with bugs.
RUSTY
Male
Pony Type -- Unicorn
Eyes -- Brown
Colors -- Butterscotch coat with a White circle around his left eye.
Mane ./ Tail -- Slightly wavy, Dark Blond colored.
Distinguishing Feature(s) -- Speaks with a Southern accent.
Accessories -- Gray Kepi hat, carries two saddlebags of tools/gear when working.
Cutie Mark -- Hammer and Hand Saw.
Big D’s right-hand pony, and all around “jack-of-all-trades”. He never likes to see a job half finished, and is a major tinker and fix-it. If something’s broken, or needs a touch of care, he’s on the spot with his tools. He runs the homestead workshop, and can come up with anything needed for a job, built from scratch. Being he’s the only unicorn of the Bronies, he’s something of a loner in his workshop. Yet he won’t stay away when there’s work to do or fun to be had.
CAYENNE
Male
Pony Type -- Pegasus w/Feathered wings.
Eyes -- Dark Green
Colors -- Golden coat.
Mane / Tail -- Shaggy (like Rainbow Dash); Dark-Red color.
Distinguishing Feature(s) -- A single while Blaze mark on his muzzle.
Accessories -- None.
Cutie Mark -- A four-ray Fireball.
A real tomboy of a Pegasus; spitfire and tornado rolled into one. Being the only flyer among the Bronies, Cayenne (Cay for short) is often called on to do the herding duties with Big D. and any other tasks that demand speed. A top-notch flyer, Cayenne is cool under pressure, but he does have a dislike of dark, narrow places like caves or deep tunnels. He does have a real fondness for apples -- a “sweet tooth” -- and prides the High Chaparral’s small grove for its treasured gold apples.
RUFF N’ READY
Male(s)
Pony Type -- Earth
Eyes -- Light Blue
Colors -- Black (Ruff), Gray (Ready)
Mane / Tail -- Straight with Bangs, White (Ruff), Straight and Short, Black (Ready)
Distinguishing Feature(s) -- None.
Accessories -- Dark Blue Ball Caps (Ruff wears his backwards).
Cutie Mark -- Twin Horseshoes (White for Ruff, Black for Ready).
Twin rascals, who happen to be Big D’s cousins. The Twins are the general caretakers of the homestead’s main house; Ruff does all the outside work -- wood chopping, digging, etc. -- while Ready runs the kitchen. Ruff loves to get down into the dirt, but Ready hates getting dirty and will spend a lot of time staying clean. Ready loves to handle things by schedules, checklists and such, while Ruff is more laid back, yet diligent in his methods. While they may scuffle and argue from time to time, these two always pull through in a pinch to help get things done. The one thing they love to do is prank others (one thing they both can agree on).
DUSTER
Male
Pony Type -- Earth
Eyes -- Black.
Colors -- Pinto colored (Brown, Tan with White patches)
Mane / Tail -- Long with a curl at the end, Brown.
Distinguishing Feature(s) -- None.
Accessories -- A Dark Cowboy hat, Dark Blue kerchief around his neck.
Cutie Mark -- A White Wolf’s Pawprint.
If there ever was a “lone wolf”, Duster fits the bill. Duster doesn’t talk much, but when he does it usually is short and to the point. Duster’s job is to roam the land on and around High Chaparral and watch for dangers. Quiet, aloof and yet he’s first to come to the aid of any pony or animal that may need help. His tasks keep him in constant contact with nature, so he gets along with most of the animals of the forest; even ones like the Ursa Minor and Majors! Even though he doesn’t show up often with his Bronies on the farm -- save for meals, he isn’t that far away when needed.
