Give Blood without Playing Hocky

So I was thinking... The "Big Red Bus" showed up today at my job site and I went in during my lunch to give them a little blood donation. Ever since I learned I'm a good donor candidate, I've been trying to give. I finally learned what my blood type is (O+) and this time it went much faster than last. I declined the free t-shirt, but boy do they have delicious cookies!

The adventure continued later that day because I was feeling pretty good and thus forgot I even gave blood. Luckily my body reminded me when I went racing up some stairs delivering mail to the various departments there and oh gawd the hall is spinning I'mgonnaliedownhereasdjfffff...
I was reclined on a nice chair in the Library and managed to catch my breath after 5 minutes. Yeah, that'll remind me not to do THAT again.
The bonus ending bit of the adventure was coming home to peel off the gauze and bandaid. I waited 4 hours like they instructed and it peeled off easily. yup, looks pretty good and *POP*--
I started bleeding a good bit out of the puncture area.
"Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"
Luckily I know how to get a wound cleaned and rebandaged with one hand. How do I know this? I have no idea... I think necessity give me a +2 to my INT score. It's all good and non-bleeding now so I think today's adventure is done. Lesson to take away from this--
Don't race up stairs after donating blood. XD
Let my duh moment be a lesson.

There is no way in unholy hell I would ever be able to donate blood. In fact, my doctor is trying to arrange something at another hospital so they can gas me before drawing my blood, as it's time for a recheck. Even after taking a shit ton of Atavan, it still takes them three hour to draw blood, and I usually end up puking in my mom's car on the way home. XD
You get my appreciation for not having the neurosis that I do about that sort of thing. I really wish they would work on manufacturing "artificial" blood so people don't have to resort to this sort of thing anymore. I think I read a while back that they were trying to engineer bacteria or something to manufacture blood cells or something, but that may have just been my imagination.
Also, I need to stop dawdling and go reply to your other comment, lol. I can be slow about that sort of thing sometimes...
On the other hand, I was no where near as bothered by getting two surgeries, one major and one semi-minor. I was kinda worried about waking up paralyzed while they were still working on me, but only slightly. Other than that, and ya know, the intravenous drip, I was fine. Go figure!
