99.999% of furry fursuiters DO NOT have sex in there suits, infact wouldn't even concitter it.

An people who go to furry cons, DO NOT have any more sex, than people who attend sci-fi cons, or trek cons, or name the con of your choice.

honestly... they should really call it fetish con. Furry is the same sort of thing like any other fetish. MOST of the fandom revolves around porn - and no one can even dispute that. To have a con for such a thing would be like people having a bondage con where there are men and women dressed up in leather and chain body suits. and I didn't just say sex - honestly the cons are mostly drinking. But you cant disregard either the ammount of people who do end up meeting people online and then go to the con to get sex... and might I remind that a few people DID get aids from the 2006 AC in PA. SO from that you know that some people are at least engaged in sexual activity.

In fact hotel's would rather host a Furry con, than a Shriner's convention. <furs don't damage the hotel, drink, or have prostitutes in the rooms.>

If you want to know what really goes on i'll give you a list..
people will be dressed in some kind of furry related tee-shirt, and jeans. some will have a tail hooked on a belt loop, and perhaps matching ears. lots will be wearing a collar, perhaps with a leash attached, but that is the extent of the bondage gear your going to see outside of a private hotel room.

people will be wondering the halls in fursuit, stopping to pose an be photographed, or act the fool.

people will gather into small groups in the hallways an rooms to just talk, or drawing art sketches, playing games or even just cards.

people will prowl the dealers room, looking for stuff to buy, or find there fav artists in hopes of getting a new sketch in there black books from them.

some will attends a sig, which could be anything from learning to draw, to learning how to perform in fursuit, to religious services, to whatever they want to discuss.

some will want to perform up on stage, with pre-written skits. in street clothes, or in fursuit, or with puppets.

there are masquerades where you can show off your newest fursuit, some are even judged competitions.

There are dances, both in an out of fursuit. some are mini-raves, Ooooh glowy stuff.

People are just there to meet old friends, an create new friendships, an to just have fun..

I never said that sex doesn't happen at the con, i just said that it doesn't happen in any greater level than at anyother type of con.

But there are not drunken bondage orgies in the hallways.

I have heard of unconfirmed rumors, of an HIV scare after AC, but no actual infections. mostly the flak was about after 7 years of the republican, don't ask, don't tell about safesex, people have gotten poor attitudes about the need an use of condoms, an other safesex practices.


I'm sure your not going to believe all that i have said, but i hope that i have somewhat cleared up the mis-perceptions you have of what a furry con is, an what actually goes on at a furry con.

people deffinately do drink ast the cons... i referance the last post on this thread even though I know more personally, that get wasted when they go.

I think cons are just about the most enjoyable thing ever, and i don't even engage in any sexual acts whatsoever at them - it's just a great opportunity to hang out with my friends who all live so far away. Buuut... that's just me!

You obviously have had some sort of embittering bad experience with furries, and that's too bad. :-/
I just do what i find enjoyable and associate with people i find interesting... maybe i'm a furry, or maybe i'm not. Frankly, i don't care either way :P It's all just a bunch of labels anyway.

I went to my first con for the first time about a month ago, and I gotta tell ya... I had nothing but fun, dancing, drinking, going to many panels on writing, fursuiting, and arting, and had an overall blast!!! I think it just depends on what people really look for in their cons, ya know? Just my PoV. :3

Missed this one. And yeah my experiance with cons may be a sheltered one but no drugs alcohol or sex in mine. Dur knowing me though :P. Oh well not much to contribute to this journal not already mainly said I guess.
