I am with ya on most of this.

I know what you mean. Alot of furries kinda move on, but sometimes it is necessary. i am finding that furries are changing constantly as they grow up, or interact with others. 4 years ago i was a horny yiffy bastard that would do anything that moved. 2 years ago i was trying to act more mature and help every living thing. now i am a little older and wiser, and i help everyone that wants to be helped, but you cannot do anything for those who do not. and i have a controlled sex drive.
I have a large friends list, but i admittedly have not talked to as many people as i used too, and have been dropped by some, and i have dropped a couple, but every now and then i find a name i have not talked too and restart a friendship. and a great friend i can keep for years.
I used to hate how we dropped out friends so much, but i guess im more understanding of it now. I hope that you make some more friends in real life btw, but so far i have only met a few and they were too young and still in need of some growing up. I would rather have good friends right now that accept me as a furr, then friends that i am only friends with because i am furry atm.

Socially retarded... I can understand that. I'm technically one of them, though I try to make up for it by making myself care about people and important stuff. I've met far too many people who seem depravedly indifferent. My weaknesses are mainly in social clumsiness, which I always hope is more tolerable than having no ethics.

It's a fandom based on the internet. Nobody knows how to maintain a conversation, let alone a friendship. That's a real turn-off for me, too.

I agree completely. I almost left furry myself or at least quit associating with others because for a while all I seemed to meet were the ones that either expect to be online mates because you get alone or think that since you've met, it counts as dating and now its time for bed fun. --- How about NO!

But I digress. I've been to furcons and met many other furs since then and I don't hate it so much now. ^^ Huzzah! Vive la Furry. :-P

First step for a lot of these unaware people is realizing that Furry is just a neat blanket term to bring totally different people together. Social fallacies are widespread with people who don't have much social contact outside internet. Not everyone is going to get along with everybody, people tend to have different interests and sets of values. Tolerance steps in and helps a lot, but eventually people will end up with a circle of contacts they can maintain without spending effort to do so.

I agree with this statement. I know you mentioned it but there are good people in the fandom but just like the real world the weird crazy people make more of a comotion and get more attention then they deserve. Though, if you are talking about people being bored of you. I know I am not.

Just remember that this is a blanket group, and that you have your own reasons for being here. You don't have to feel like you should be a big part of the furry 'scene' or anything.
