Here's my rant for the day :P
Yo peoples, Bootz here. Yeesh I don't post here enough do I? :/ Well, since I'm bored as all hell and cause I actually feel like letting off a random rant, I'll post here the top 5 reasons the new Pokemon series "Black and White" ain't all as good as the other seasons :D.....yeah I've caught the poke' fever. Before I get onto my rant and top 5 I'll go on a bit of a back story for the sake of clarification or just because I feels like it :P
I'll start off by saying I was there when Red and Blue came out, and I friggin' played the hell out of it. Although I was never able to get the future games that came after it like Yellow, then crystal then so on and so forth. So I just stuck to watching the show since it was the closest things I could get to the game. Then a few years latter Diamond, Perl and Platinum came out and my friend practically begged me to get it just to join in. Soooo due to peer pressure and my own curiosity I decided to pick up Platinum and play through it. I practically fell in love with the series again, game wise that is. The show itself....meh.. :/ Anyway a game latter, that game being Soul Silver by the by, I heard the hype and news for Black and White and of course I was pretty interested too. And yeah...the roster could be a weee bit better but fuck it, we can bitch about how the names are fucked up, how the look of the new Pokemon are some of the worst designs ever and how they're running out of ideas...yeah we can go on and on but so what? We'll still buy it, we'll still play it and we'll still enjoy it because we fuckin' grew up with it weither we wanna admit it or not. Don't agree with me nor believe me? Why not post a comment saying why you don't if so, then after you do that go look up the words "Childhood", "Fun" and "Entertainment" ya friggin' troll....you know who you are D:< Damn that was a winded back story. Well now that we got that out of the way allow me to be the one to list off the top five reasons as to why Pokemon Black and White just don't do it for me let alone hold up.
5. They're practically rehashing the very first season.
Before I get a bunch of people on my ass for this little reason, I know its technically not rehashing when they're working with new settings and new set ups or however you'd like to put it. That and frankly I think it kind of works in a way, but what bugs me is the fact that they have Ash starting from scratch, with his pikachu in hand, treating him like a noob and have him getting his ass kicked by wild pokemon like he did in the very beginning. Yeah I get that he's supposed to start in the new region and everything and he's basically starting a new adventure and such but for fuck sake he should be able to handle wild pokemon by now, specially the ones which are supposed to be like the low level. I mean c'mon, all that he's learned by now he should be able to handle them with ease, a bit of trouble yeah since its a new region but c'mon half of those pokemon seemed WAY too strong even for beginer/basic pokemon. But enough statistics, lets move on.
4. Ash is still a preteen..
Yeah feel free to correct me on this one people cause I'm pretty off on how old he is...but come the fuck on! All that time in those other regions, all those battles and all those fucking travels took place in months?! And if that's the case shouldn't he have aged at least by a year or two?! I know this isn't the best reason but seriously? Uggh....buuuut yeah that's number 4 but that doesn't nearly get to me as much as number 3 does. Speaking of which..
3. Pikachu is suddenly getting his ass kicked...
For all the pikachu fans out there again feel free to correct me on any statistics let alone random facts that I may get wrong along the way, but why is Pikachu getting his ass kicked all of a sudden? I don't care if they don't go by level in the show, and I don't care that he's statistically smaller and is considered a mouse pokemon and I'll say again don't care if they don't go by level in the show. Pikachu should be able to friggin' one hit K.O. half the pokemon within that show. Hell even though he wasn't able to use thunder in the first episodes he STILL shouldn't have been able to loose against Snivy, (note that I don't care what english name they give the new starters, I'm gonna call it by the name they originally gave it and if anybody corrects me with the english names they can go suck it D:< I kid but seriously I hate the english names for some of these pokemon..) hell an iorn tail would've K.O.'d the little bastard. And if anybody should decide to bring up the episode where Pikachu lost against against Garry's Eevee...well I dunno, honestly Garry was a douche but he didn't do too bad with the so called final battle so meh. Plus eevee has been growing on me since I've started using them myself ^^...dun judge me :P
2. Team Rocket...actually doing somewhat decent....?
Due to how long this one was I'll try and keep this one short and to the point. For those who've watched the series they'll know that Team Rocket, while usually the bad guys, have always been the comic relief whenever they try to steal pokemon and such. But as soon as this season started they've started becoming slightly better. Why does this bug me you ask? Well it only urks me cause I'm slightly used to them loosing in the most comical way, yeah they've been known to sometimes get a successful scheme in now and again, ultimately failing mind you, but even so they've stuck with them being the comic relief of any situation in all the series. And yeah they're still the comic relief mind you but not as much, they've actually started to get slightly better like they were in the first few pokemon episodes of the verry first season. However this show is only just beginning plus I watch it in dub cause I'm a lazy bastard and don't like looking up the sub but I will say this much, sometime soon they'd better go blasting off again real soon. True fans and long time watchers will know what I'm talkin' about :3
And now for the number one reason that I'm not very in tune with the series thus far...:3
1. Fucking....Iris..
This bitch is the reason I want them to bring back Misty, granted she was a bitch herself but at least there was some decent character development between her and the other main characters. And yes again I know the series is just starting out but Iris is just....URG!! Allow me to illiterate on that "URG!!" I've just displayed for your reading pleasure or for those who aren't familiar with the character what so ever. Iris is probably the ONLY character on Pokemon who's of African American decent, or black for those who get lost at "African American" and within the first few 3 episodes she's in she's made herself out to be pushy, self centered, snobbish, vain, stuck up and a bunch of other words that pretty much just lead up to "She's just a stuck up bitch" -.- So yeah, the only black character on any pokemon series and I can't even enjoy it let alone root for her cause she has to be a friggin' little "know it all" who hasn't done anything besides make Ash seem like some noob when HE'S done more in the series than anybody else so far. And apparently she's a gym leader depending on whichever game you buy, and apparently Ash and Iris are gonna end up fighting along down the road at some point...but frankly I'm not impressed considering all they've shown her to be is some fucking little know it all bitch who acts like she knows it all calling Ash a kid every chance she gets just because he's from Pallet Town...Well let me say this much for those who are Iris fans, if this offends anybody I apologize in advance but...Fuck Iris. Ash has done more, seen more and has caught more within' the pokemon series than anybody else, and yeah of course he's the main character and is supposed to be able to do all this crap but when some bitch comes out of nowhere, asserts herself acting like she's hot shit calling that main character a kid without even doing so much as using any other pokemon other than the one on her shoulder, which got captured in the second episode that being of her second debut by the way, have her pokemon saved by the person she calls kid and yet still calls him kid just because he's new in the Unova region? As a great man once said...F.T.P! I'll leave it up to you to figure out what that means :3
Damn that was a long rant x__x I'm kinda amazed I even got as far as I did. Well anyway feel free to post comments on what you think of my little rant and such, I'm pretty open for any debate on this :3 Juuust as long as you don't make it about petty crap such as the voice acting and other cliche crap that could be mentioned on the fly -.- That aside, hope you enjoyed the rant and till I decide to do another one latters :3 Oh and for all the poke' maniacs out there if ya wanna battle sometime feel free to ask for my friend code so we can do battle sometime :3

Pikachu: It was a FUCKING GODMODER STARTING OFF (how the fuck does an Eletric Type more one hit knockout something with the GROUND type!?). In the movies (though not cannon) that Pikachu seems to be the one to deal the MOST damage, and everything else doesn't have a PRAYER.
I got sick of that "rat" winning so damn much, especially winning fights it SHOULD HAVE LOST HORRIBLY!
Team Rocket: You don't speak for the entire base. I for one have gotten SICK of how predictable they had gotten, and I WELCOME this change with open arms and hope they either become SERIOUS antagonists OR FINALLY decide to leave their life of crime (let's face it, Jesse & James SUCK at being evil but ROCK when they're doing good). It's just too damn long they have been the comedy relief to the point where it's gotten old. The novelty is GONE.
Iris: This is the one that REALLY grinds my gears. Seems like the "old school fans" treat every other female lead like they killed Misty. DAMNIT GIVE THEM A CHANCE! Misty wasn't always so nice, hell she started off as a real BITCH (or have most of us forgotten this since the old episodes haven't been aired for awhile?)!
The moment someone compares the new female to Misty in their complaints their argument loses all credibility to me. Misty got solid development because she was with Ash the LONGEST! Lots of people seem to forget this (or choose to not acknowledge if cause the new girl gets in the way of their ONE TRUE PARRING!). EVERY OTHER FEMALE LEAVES ASH THE MOMENT THEIR REGION IS DONE! And lets face it, Ash is dumb as shit. Oblivious to the opposite sex. I doubt he'd even knows what boobs ARE.
So what if she calls Ash a kid. She has a point, he's a MORON. I CAN'T STAND HIM, HE NEVER GETS SMARTER SO I LOVE HER CAUSE SHE SAYS ABOUT ASH WHAT I THINK! If Ash DOES (not holding my breath on this) get a brain, THEN Iris will be concidered crossing the line. Until then, she's in the right.
Pikachu: This one I got to raise my hands up on too cause, well your kind of right. I mean the hero is supposed to be able to handle things easilly (Not saying that the lil mother fucker had it easy on its way up) but yeah there IS a bit of a limit specially considering that he did take on a legendary pokemon. I mean hell Charazard took on Entei but only diffrence with that is A) that was a movie. B) That entei was made up by the unknown and C) While an epic battle, Charazard still lost which was kind of expected (but hey least they kept it evenly matched). So again I raised my hands up on this one.
Team Rocket: This one I'm slightly sketchy on but your right I shouldn't have said Team Rocket as a whole cause lets face it Jesse and James are all Giovanni's got :/ That aside I never said it was a bad thing that they were getting epic, it just bugged me cause I've watched it enough to get used to them blasting off into space. Hell I miss it but if anything I do kind of like them succeeding ONCE in a while even if they do suck at being evil, hell by this point I wouldn't be surprised if this season brought about the fall of Team Rocket cause lets face it by now they're just the monkey in the middle. Still a little sketchy on this one but you do bring an interesting point about them being the ass of every defeat each time and how it does get old, leeets just hope that the creators keep it going before them getting epic gets too old or before they run outta meterial. Better yet before they even do that they should make an official story on how the three of them actually met, if they have already however let me know cause I haven't kept up with all the episodes but I sure as hell don't remember them saying how they all met, I know James is a rich boy, I know Jesse tried to become an aspiring doctor but failed and I know that Meowth was an alley cat, much like myself, before he went out on his own learning how to speak and walk like a human being.
Iris..: Ok this one Im gonna stick by on, but not for the reasons your thinking of even though those are pretty good reasons to defend her. And believe me when I say while I miss Misty Im in no rush on bringing her back, I believe in character development as well ya know even in characters I hate :p. And yeah I'll take that Ash is indeed an idiot (as shown in the snivy episode, seriously how the fuck do you NOT know what gender your own pokemon are?! Seriously!) and Iris calling him a kid is indeed called for due to his attitude on things mainly when he doesn't realize for the first few episodes that these pokemon are indeed tougher than in the other regions before going "Holy fuck these pokemon aren't like from the kanto region, SHIT JUST GOT REAL!!!!!". But what I DON'T accept is the fact that while she has called Ash a kid and criticized him to no end and what has she done to help the situation? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I mean, yeah Misty was a bitch and held a grudge because his pikachu electrocuted her bike. Hell fucking MAY was a bitch for that exact same reason, yeah how long did they beat that horse before they realized it was dead? But they at least got through the first 5-6 episodes actually proving themselves to be somewhat usefull to the group/plot/story themselves other than just being cometary on how the idiot's doing. Hell even Brock or that other kid with the glasses played referee when they had a disagreement and in the end it all turned out alright and it added development for all in one way or another, which is why I wanted them to bring back Misty or any OTHER character that could contribute and be slightly more empathetic to the fact that while Ash is indeed an idiot, and believe me Im not gonna hold my breath on that one either, is actually NEW to the Unova region. Iris...she hasn't done much of anything other than just play commentary and be like "God what an idiot -.-" Don't get me wrong commentary is good but when it gets to the point to where its all you do even when you're supposed to be the fucking father of gym leader who has the legend badge? Yeeeaah yer not representing much. And yeah its probably too early to count her out as useless but damnit until she either cuts the damn boy some slack (not holdin my breath on that one), does something other than just stand there commenting or, you know, capture a new pokemon for character development she's still, in my book at least, a whiny little brat.
Other than those three rant blots you brought some interesting points :3 You have any of the games praytell?
Also that kid with the glasses was named Max. I still think its too early for me to declare Iris bad. I'm going to give that verdict once we get at least 30 episodes in.
I watched the Anime from the beginning and I was accepting of Ash's stupidity because he was new. It was his first year, up till that point he never handled a Pokemon so I just choked it up to simply not having enough hands on experience. When he was going to Johto I was thinking "great, we're going to see him put what he learned from his time in Kanto to the test" BOY WAS A WRONG! And when he went to Honen...well, I just lost any hope for him.
Either they make Ash SMARTER or make a new trainer for each region. By now Ash should be wiser, smarter and perhaps even playing a MENTOR role for the new people in his travels. But that's not the case. -_-
