I do have to admit that military parades are one thing (there are a couple dozen, including Tetris and some scientific advancements) the Soviets got right, in that: They kept an old tradition most countries used to do alive, and it looks awesome.
I think the French may still do military parades too, I'm not sure. I hope they do.
