I hate those kind of dreams.

Me too... They always make me wake up feeling a little odd...

I've had a dream that I was in a pool or something with an inflating hippo or something, and it started pushing against me more and more. It began to suffocate me, and then I woke up gasping for air. (That dream was years ago.)

Wow... Most of my dreams revolve around stuff I've seen or experienced that day. Sometimes I dream about falling, but I wake up before I hit the ground.
Aside from my recurring "falling teeth" dream I mention some time ago, I don't usually have other noteworthy dreams... Most of my nightmares are from stuff that have shocked me or otherwise made a mark on my psyche on that day.

Yes, that describes pretty mcuh EVERY GODDAMN DREAM IVE EVER HAD, for some reason, I tend to have semi-lucid dreams where I know im dreaming but cant control it, and I cant wake up from it either.

Yeah, I know what you mean... I sometimes have dreams where I'm miserable and have nothing but bad things happen to me, and only when I wake up I realize that I could have dreamed nice things if I wanted... It's kinda annoying. :P
