{Warning- Controversial Rant} "Pray for Japan."

"Pray for Japan."
Well. I've been seeing this a lot recently, and it's really getting on my tits.
What happened in Japan is an absolute horror, a tragedy, and I do hope that things get better for them. Just this statement is making me want to stab people with a spoon.
First off- If your God did exist, why the hell would he have done this?! If he let it happen he most certainly won't make anything better. It seems moronic to pray to the 'being that rules all' to stop something, when he started it if he does see all and control all.
Secondly, why don't you try to help in some way? I'm sure you could donate to a charity that is helping them, comfort the family and friends of those who are missing or dead (Maybe not those in Japan, seeming as their internet is patchy), or even offer your help to the charities. Sitting round saying "My prayers go to Japan" seems all in all a bit pointless.
It's all well and good to show you care, but if you care that much, why don't you actually HELP?
I cannot do much to help, but I've tried to by offering my art to a 'help Japan' auction thing that someone is setting up. It may not make people trip over themselves to donate, but at least I'd be contributing some how.
This is a pointless rant to get it off of my chest, and I'd rather not have arguments. Good on you to all that have helped by donating to charity, doing charity commissions or offered your time to help someone. I respect that.

I agree completely, HOWEVER.
"Pray for Japan" is a quick and easy sentiment. It's a gesture of good will, however skewed the thoughts are. As long as it's pray AND GET OFF YOUR ASS, then it's fine. But just praying? Yeah, no
If they do get off their arse, then they're excused from this rant, I guess. :B
