Writer's Meme
I should post some more of my writing up here
Anyways, this was a meme I stole from
threetails, who got it from
kyell, and I figured it would be fun to do, if for no other reason to remind myself of writing projects I've started and forgotten about
Post the title of your upcoming project, along with the first sentence.
Eidolon (upcoming novel, still in early development, still needs lots or revision and completion)
"The black paw pads on Ryou Frostfur's feet dug into soft dirt as he quickly rounded the corner of the building."
Visions (completed short story, I should try submitting it to something perhaps :/)
"I strolled slowly along one of the small side streets of Manhattan."
Dark Matter (upcoming short story, was once completely but is now being rewritten)
"Something had gone wrong."
The Return of the Tree (completed short story, something short and silly, based on a dream.)
"I stood on the tiled floor of my room, in front of my desk of green, yellow, blue, and red hues."
An Afternoon Hike (complete short story, needs revision)
"He knew the motto well; be prepared."
Ikodo's Story (fantasy novel idea, needs a name a lot of work, hasn't made it anywhere yet)
"Ikodo walked slowly through the golden field of tall, waving, grass, his head always turned toward the ground."
The Ways of the Living World (upcoming short story, barely started)
"Tomez Richardston sat in his grungy chair in the corner of his room."
The Woods (completed short story, a cheesy horror piece that I don't like anymore)
"That time of year had come again."
Notes:
*You can't tell much from my opening sentences, so maybe they need a bit of work?
*I'm terrible at finishing things, so the term "upcoming" is used very loosely here. In some cases it can be replaced with "maybe, if at all"
*I like short stories, because there's a better chance of finishing them *is lazy*
And sure enough, it turns out, there was a few projects that I completely forgot about, and I think there might be other short stories that I started on paper that have since been long lost in notebooks somewhere. Anyway, I need Nanowrimo to come around again, so I have motivation to keep me writing. Otherwise, I find it so hard to focus.
Let me know if any of you out there see stories on this list that sound interesting and maybe I'll post them here, or in some cases, try to finish them and then post them here ^^
