Hey all
Just looking for tips on hitting the gym. I still wanna get in shape for AC, and I wondered what you guys and gals do. Weights, rowers, treadmills, swimming...any advice would be helpful. As it is, I don't have THAT much of a stomach...just a bit of a bulge, but I want it gone. I'm not looking for a rippling six-pack...just a flat stomach and maybe a nice chest.
Any tips?

yeah, you knoww here this is going
idk, maybe just start going for runs/jogs? I mean, I walk a lot, and it keeps me in shape-ish...
also, don't do sit-ups. Apparently they're bad for you. REALLY bad.
Sex actually burns quite a lot of calories...
The best for losing weight, that i know off, would be cardio training. Do a treadmill for at least 20-30 minutes. Three times a week. Speed must be consistent. For example, if you're running on speed 9, keep it that way for about few minutes, 10 or so. Keep that pace. As long as you're running, you're burning but don't over exert. Once you're out of the treadmill, you're still burning calories. So, less cardio for the next session, perhaps weighlifting. After that, continue with cardio if you are up to it. If you have the time, train for at least two hours or so but not more than three cause your body will die. Well, not literally die but just over work itself.
If you're over work, your body won't be able to handle the next session of workout for the next day. Have a routine of rest between a day. Monday workout, rest Tuesday, Wednesday workout and Thursday rest. something like that. This is to let your body rest and probably work better in the next session.
Again, this is just tips that I got from internet and from some random strangers in the gym that I went to. I just started working out in the gym four months ago. So.. results, for me, is slow but it's there. Food! important! Try to take low intake of calories and if you can, calculate your calories. For that, I really need to be taught and trained on as well. XD.
All I can say is good luck with your training and keep getting motivated! I'm lacking in that sense too. T.T. i need motivation. I've been trying to search for a gym buddy.
Diet is hard for me...I like my take-out food. But I've cut back considerably, and I'm trying to find healthier stuff to eat at work for lunch.
As for weight lifting, it's a whole different category all together. It depends on what body part that you want to train on. Biceps? Triceps? Curls? Abs? Back? Thigh? There's a whole lot of selection and since you're taking on the tummy only, maybe abs? I'm not too sure about that. For that, you might want to ask Archilles about it. XD
Food! It's hard for me too. Always cut back on take-out. It's bad. I don't have them at all cause I'm always out to eat or my mum cooks it. The only fast food chain that I know that's healthy would be Subway. It's a good place for quick bite and it's healthy. Just try to avoid the meatball marinara. XD. I read a book about fast food chain and apparently, Meatball marinara comes up as a high calory sub.
Yeah, I'm mostly looking at belly and chest for now. Might want to work on arms later on...
though i do like going on walks! cardio is good, and i know how hard it is to give up fast food, but my advice to you is to eat more "complete" meals, not snacks and such. eating a whole meal is better than snacking, because most snacks tend to be unhealthy, but if you need a snack, might i suggest an apple? they allways fill me up for some reason..plus there natures caffine!!!
I just need to stop procrastinating...its not that long until AC, and I wanna look nice for a certain wolf I know...
I imagine swimming laps 20-30 minutes would work well, specifically breast stroke cause it seems to work the whole core. The hard part would be regulating your breathing. To get a good, aerobic workout you want to breath with a regular, steady rhythm. At least, that's what I learned from my dad, so I might just be talking out my ass.
Another bit of advice: if you drink soda, stop, or at least restrict yourself to one a day. As an example, when I drink soda, my weight fluctuates between 215 and 230. When I don't (and it's hard not to) and drink mostly water, I usually weigh between 180 and 190, which is decent for my height (6'1").

Yeah...soda is my weakness. Specifically Coke Zero...I should try and not have that every day...
try jogging or running man, or just do some workouts in ur room
