2011: Nuclear reactors across Japan explode, causing a meltdown. 60% of the population killed.
2012: Japan is quarantined, no one allowed to enter or leave.
2015: Joint country expedition team sent into Japan. Results show that 90% of current population of Japanese people suffer from radiation poison, mutation may occur.
2020: 80% of the population are mutants. Mutants have no recollection of being human, and are very hostile. Some gain the ability to manipulate the elements such as fire, water, and etc…
2027: Japanese scientists give reports of being able to tame mutants.
2028: A new area of science is created and dedicated to the advancement of knowledge on these mutants. They can be used as food, workers, and are able to communicate with humans to a degree.
2030: A bill is passed that denies the ability to use mutants in war. A revolt in the same year, results in the creation of a sport revolving around the mutants, to allow them to fight with each other, under the guardianship of professional human trainers.
2043: Ash Ketchum is born.
