It's all about nostalgia, some people grew up watching shows like my little pony and now that the new one has come out they are comparing the two. Since the new one is alot better people feel like they have something to show off. Kind of the Idea of I was here first so let me show you how wonderful this is. At least that's what I think.

though the story is an improvement the animation is a far set back compared to the original.
