i live in a condominium complex which happens to be seated directly south of a main street where there are like five bars in a row
right next to my computer desk is a window which faces this street
having to deal with the howling voices of hundreds to thousands of drunkards for 24+ hours while attempting to get work done and/or sleep is not fun. it's really not.

there are a lot of churches here, too, but they're spaced more widely. there are also plenty of temples for non-christian faiths, too. it balances out. bars, on the other hand...not so much. there are actually fewer bars and more big businesses to the north and south, but i live in the downtown/midtown area of my city where there are a lot of "shadier" businesses, so go fig'.
