First movie I've seen in a long time that doesn't have unstoppable alien adversaries that kill fucking everybody and that (this is more important) shows things from a trained team of military professionals' points of view rather than some whiny incompetent civilian cameraman with an indestructible camera. I like the end part where the Marines make a final stand.

Another part about Battle LA that I liked was the fact that it's the first alien invasion movie in five or six years where somebody lives at the end.

Well, technically District 9 is also one, but then again it wasn't an invasion. More like a migration or something.

Yeah, people keep bringing District 9 up when I mention that BLA (heh) is one of the few movies that has humans alive at the end, but I always say it doesn't count since the aliens weren't technically enemies.
