Has anyone else besides me noticed that if you are ever arguing with someone if you stop responding to them you are thought of to have 'lost' the arguement?

I wasn't talking about you, it's just a 'rule' I've seen on the internet as a whole.

I believe it's a more instinctual thing, the sign of not responding is thought to be backing down.

Had the same thing happen to me about a month ago. Some crazy I suppose I knew years ago attacks me over life happenings I can't control, and asks "Nothing to say?" Of course, you mean nothing to me, and have no bearing on my life in the slightest. I find out later they literally talk to themselves and are miserable. All is well.
