Depends on how well you can pump out art and how fast, and how well you get along with the person. I've done it before. I'm fuckin' terrible at it. I eventually get tired of drawing so many things so often. I think it's mostly a matter of how much you enjoy drawing and how much you think you'd enjoy it, etc.

i think an iron artist is when someone does 100 commisions or request/trades
and i dunno what there trying to prove or anything xD

I had an art slave option up but no one took it xP But art slaves basically offer up deals monthly, at least the ones I've seen. And they charge like 100 or more and offer basically a little more than the normal amount of art for that value during the month. Or whatever, it would be up to you and the individual to work out I suppose :o Sadly i have no like..real examples as I've only seen journals about it in passing, and the people I have known to do it never posted the art they did for the people a lot of it was privately transacted.

The concept I have of it is basically you offer one set price[a lot of artists make the price a little cheaper than the norm to get folks to bite, because who doesn't like a good deal!] for one set type of picture 'sketch/line art/flat color' and it is supposed to be good practice for the artist, to increase skill and speed which is why a lot of people will offer sketches or colored sketches , to work on form building AND coloring.


If you wanna do mature stuff go for it. You'll get more views for it for sure x3 I'm sure folks would be interested.

Ohh! Thanks for the info! That helps a lot. The iron artist thing is actually something I'd LOVE to try, hearing you say that. When I started taking commissions, I had improving my artwork immensely in mind. Unfortunately, wiggly icons don't help that too much, so it'd be nice to try something that will make me feel good about the time I'm spending taking commissions (besides the money, obviously).

Yeah, I'm guessing people would be interested, I'm just worried about being more known for porn than my style and stuff. :c

Well, I don't have a 'personal' personal experience. But my boyfriend has, in the past commissioned a single artist to do a hundred different sketches for him... which took more or less a year for the young lass to complete xD

The situation has it's benefits and it's downsides. Potentially this person could seriously commission you to do a hundred pictures of himself/herself which would become ridiciously tedious by the 3rd-5th picture, leaving Ninety something doodles of perpetual hell.

If you take all the cash from this person upfront, it would ruin the mean as a motivator. With cash in hand all ready, there would be little drive towards the next scribble, whilst still leaving you in "debt" to this person.

If the person is capable of paying each image individually, as long as you complete for what has been payed, you can quit any time without a problem.

An Iron Artist, varies person to person. Some have a set price and take on as many commissioners as they can handle. Whilst others have a set number to reach, meaning a first come, first served basis.

To be honest, I really like your art for it's innocent appeal. In my opinion I would guess that it's not really your style. You shouldn't conform to the majorities desires if you don't desire it yourself.

However, that's just what I think for "penis in vagina"... Your style would be okay with nipples, male and female... but I'd be stumped for the 'nether regions'...

I DUNNO. I've been really confused about the whole porn thing recently. I honestly really love the fact that FA is such an open place for that sort of thing. And I do draw it for myself, I just keep it to myself. I guess I haven't thought too much about the content I'd receive for commissions, but I'm really curious to try drawing a bunch of different kinds of fetish work, even if I'm not into what I'm asked to do, for the exploration aspect? Then again, I know a lot of artists get more attention for their porn than for what counts in their artwork, so I worry about that...

I'd be really curious to see what you come up with o.o It would indefinately get you a handful of watchers and that number would steadily rise.

At the moment, your watch list most likely consists of people who genuinely appreciate or like your artwork, and the odd "obligatory viewer".
With the hanky-panky aspect, you'd catch a fair amount of people's attention.

A good lot of those 'new' watchers will have initially been drawn in by the 'porn' and hooked on your artwork.
It's pretty much inevitable that you would attract the a small number of "One-handed fans" but in my opinion they would be trumped by the latter.
