Atheists part 2

Serve those above you for they advance you. Serve those below you for they support you. Serve those beside you for they will catch you.
I've discovered that one thing that totally burns me up is the need for some atheists to voice how atheist they are. They break into long-winded explanations as to why they don't believe in anything which only shows how blatantly religious they are. They argue, force, and thrust their beliefs on everyone around them with a determination that rivals the most zealous and religious of Christians.
Proportionally, you don't hear Christians, (or any other faith for that matter, but we Christ-followers are some of the worst) vocalizing how Christian we are and why and how and explain backwards and forwards with constant references. For as many as we are, there are surprising few neurotics. Yet, it always seems that every single Atheist I meet has to get all uppity and superior about their beliefs.
Granted, though, I've also come to realize that I hate this trait in any person, regardless of what the believe in. In fact, I think the worst of the worst of the worst are those that worship the almighty dollar. They NEVER shut up.
Maybe we should all go agnostic and do the whole "can't we all just get along" shtick. If we all actually accepted the idea that we're all in this together and we should all just be decent to each other (not necessarily nice, just decent) maybe the world would be a better place.
It's naive, sure, but hey, sometimes people need some idealistic thoughts.

You can't really say that Atheists push their beliefs more though, I've had plenty of Christians try to shove it down my throat, and plenty of other religious groups. I don't think I've ever had one atheist come to my door, when I've had loads of (other) religious folks knocking in the past, sometimes several times a day. Hell, my grandmother was converted!
It's all about perspective really, what ever way you look at it there will be fanatics for one or the other.
When people get all uppity about it I just tell them to shove it. I may not have a religion myself, but I'm more than willing to respect that others do, and I won't pay it any mind if they respect that I don't. I really think thats what true Atheists are, not these people that parade it around like some retard on a quest. Just that Atheist has become a blanket term for all.
Agnostic I've always viewed and understood as more along the lines of not really minding or caring much either way. It's not knowable, so there's no use worrying or fretting or bothering with it. A more 'come what may' attitude.
But yes, it really is all about perspective. There are fanatics for the atheists just as there are for any other religion... And they're ALL irritating.
I guess what I'm trying to point out is that it seems that (at least in my usual encounters with them) they do not even realize that they ARE following a religion and are criticizing me about my faith as vehemently as some bible-thumper does about their lack thereof. They're so adamantly non-believers that they fail to realize that they've crossed the line into becoming believers themselves.
I could just be unlucky, though.
Thats why I put the (other) in there actually >.=.<
This is why I don't like to call myself Atheist actually, because they go too far. If people just accepted that others have beliefs they don't there would be no problems.
Too many bad connotations.
But yea, I guess there are some rotten apples in any bunch.
It seems that I've run into just as many unreasonably fanatical atheists as I have unreasonably fanatical Christians (Roman Catholic majority here)... and since Christians are very likely in the majority versus atheists... well.... the disproportion causes me undue agitation.
The atheist kettles vs the Christian pots.
