I think you make a lot of sense here. It's a little bit of a frightening thought in some ways, but in others it's a good thing.

Yeah I am not sure what I think about the whole thing, it's interesting and makes sense... wether it's good or bad has yet to be foreseen.

A really funny thing is. I watch so many people on fa and read so many journals/livestreams and things. It's been actually causing my social skills to improve, yet at the same time it seems to be slowly turning me bi. (You might say it's slowly making me conform to the group furry mind if you wish)

Where as as a youth I mostly read books and watched the discovery channel and had little in common with other children and mostly talked with teachers and very educated adults.


Some groups often come up with their own vocabulary to recognize outsiders. Surfer talk, doctors Latin, lawyer/politicians law talk, ect

In theory everyone is affected regardless of wether you believe what a tv show says. It's the sprinciple that our opinions and personalities change based on our environments for example I spend alot of time with you and I pick up on things you say and we become more alike now put millions of people on a network and they will all become similar. Same idea as how music affects the brain and causes certain emotions. It's not so much a belief in what people are saying as it is what we see causing us to on a subconcious level change. If I see a report on something it will affect my opinion or if I am a furry on furaffinity I will begin to share more and more in common with those around me thus losing a piece of my individuality.

It's not so much a matter of intellegance but simply media and the subconcious and not just media but social networking as a form of media.

I never really watched TV let alone had one for a big chunk of my life being raised in the middle of no ware. It certainly shaped how I turned out and influenced the person I am today. this is weird for the past week and a half i've been thinking about the same exact thing. the type of people you hang around with will be the type of person you become, but to me that seems like the view of a follower. i'm a leader i set the example for all who follow me i show them how to be. everyone i'm arround try to act more like me. most people come to me for guidance some just look up to me and a few see me as there hero. i have had people tell me that they honestly trust me with there lives. the highschool i go to is a small one there is only about 200 people in the entire place everyone of them know me and know what i do, almost everyone of them except a few knuckle heads will follow my lead in anything they are doing because everone of them know i will not perposly wrong them. among these people there are many different groups i can interact with any one of them and get positive feedback, if you'd ask them most of them consider me as a friend. in my live time i've had only one enemy but i ran him off long ago. i don't know why he didn't like me, but he would always try to start rumers about me but they would never last to long because my follower are loyal to me and would stand up for me and up a stop to any rumer that got started. i tought them to alway do what was right and they would alway go from there with my guidence to become there own individuals carying on my values and creating there own. i would always set them up for succes never failur and it makes them better people. what i am trying to tell you is don't be influenced in bad ways by other stick to your morals and opinions and let other change to you. you talked about MTV and HOLLYWOOD i can tell you this now all of that is just garbage don't believe any of it especially not MTV i don't think there is even one show on there that has any value to it at all, its just for entertainment. the type of media you really have to watch out for is the news media, man news medias are very biest they are always on one extreme or another, if you watch something on the news allways reserch both sides before you make an opinion fillter out all the bullcrap find a middle ground and go from there. i don't know if it goes as far as taking away everyons individualitys by making us all similar because if you use a little bit of common secse and not let ower selves be influenced by garbage we will not lose any of ower individuality. people tend to not educate themselves about a situation before they make an opinion about it, they usually make a judgement with the first thing they heir and if you try to go in deapth with them on the subject they will allway tell only one side of the story. just educate yourself on things so you aint walking around ignerant because someone who is ignerant is very easy to control and manipulate.

I understand all that and I don't watch MTV or anything like that in fact the whole MTV mentality irritates me to no end. I certainly don't walk to the beat of anyone else's drum as I am a bit of a loner and a recluse. However that being said I also have to admit that I get my opinions somewhere and when I watch the news I form opinions or when I read a book I get ideas etc etc. It's not so much a visible thing it's the natural way we get information, we are all getting centralized information based around news, facebook, twitter and tons of other less noticeable things it's inevitable we will form similar opinions. Adapting to our environment is a survival instinct and I am not saying that in one generation it's going to come full circle (if it ever does) but little by little our society is becoming more and more alike. Or at least that's the theory. I don't know if I agree but it is certainly interesting nonetheless.

i've foung that if you make friends with people in all sorts of different groups it will give you alot of connectios out in the real world which will let you get alot of things done more smoothly because these friends in all these different groups will go into an array of different fields of work and will allow you to get the things you need.

I personally don't like having lots of friends. I like to be alone for the most part in RL.

i have lots of friends and i love to be alone because i can do what i want when i want and theres no one around to say anything about it. i often go out on my own into the mountins i won't take a cellphone i won't have anything that will allow me to make contact with the outside world, all i take is a rifle a pocket full of ammunition and a sharp knife. i'll leave and not come back for days. i just start walking with no intended destination i walk in whatever direction feels right, all i do is survive and contemplate about the universe. being out there in the wilderness all alone with no one around for miles will cause you to think.

I prefer thinking in my quiet cozy apartment. I don't have the luxury of being able to leave whenever I want as my job holds a tight leash around me.

quite the job and go find another one that you like better and will let you do what you want. you can do what i do, i run a custom graphis shop by myself. the other day i made 500 bucks on one job it only took me 2 or 3 hours to get done that includes the work in the shop, taking it to the gut who ordered them, and putting them on the trucks. that was 500 dollars cash money straight to my pocket with hardly any work and no stress put on me. i also wheel and deal alot you buy, sell, and trade you can make alot of fast money at that if you know what you are doing and you have connections to be able to sell the stuff.

I don't have that luxury either. Job stability is a must for me as I am working on getting my fiancee through imigrations and transitioning which will cost a ton. On top of that I need the credit and job history to get a house and on top of THAT I don't have any graphics skills. I don't mind having to work all the time as I have nothing better to be doing except making money and I am good at what I do, though it is in no way the career I want but I can get out of it later when I have the luxury of taking risks as risks at my point in life mean certain disaster with immigration and getting a home. Aside from that I live on a small island where the cleint base would not be that vast.

i got to get off here and get some rest i am slap dab wore out, i had to fight that house fire, that 2in. fire hose just kicked my ass, and inhaling all that nice toxic black smoke has got me down.

what ever happened to the simpler times when people could stake claim to a piece of land, build a house with there own two hands and providing for thier family by living off the land. i wolud much rather live a simple life like this with no stress or worries but to just protect my family and land over the termoil of todays sasity. all the stress of the hussel and busl seems like it would shave more than a few years off your life. i don't know about you but i'm got to live to be a hundred years old or die trying.

Your thought mirror my own in this regard. We do tend to take on the traits of those around us. It's an evolutionary adaptation, I suspect - think about it, in a large group of folks that survives, if they all have similar habits, survival is potentially easier. It's a mostly subconscious thing. But I find I do it too.

Yeah that's exactly what I mean it's kind of inevetable unltess someone becomes a total recluse. It's super neat when you think about the easy connection we have with everyone and shared media in this day and age. I don't even necessarily think it's a bad thing though it has vast potential to be.

i must have a different meaning for the word argument because i wasn't trying to say it in a bad way, i was using it jokeingly. i didn't mean for it to sound negative if it did, but people from around here talk different then most other people. you just misunderstood what i was trying to say. if you want me to call them conversations insted of arguments i will. i guess what you would call an argument i would call a feud. if you look up the words feud and argument on wikipedia you will see where i am coming from. people perceive words differently differently when they live in compleatly different places.

you are right we were having a conversation. thanks for wishing me the best of luck, i deal with stuff like that on a day to day basis, you know running into burning buildings, rescueing people in danger, saving lives and property, it comes with the job i'm a fire fighter. being a fire fighter is pretty cool, you get to drive the big fire trucks, spray a bunch of high pressure water, run into burning buildings, and just protect people. its very interesting but it does get boring sometimes, you know i'm glad that nothing is happening because nobody live is in danger, but sometimes i wish something would just catch on fire so i'll have something to do that gets the adrenalin pumping. the thrill of danger it is freakin awesome, does that make me a bad person? ya do see alot of terrible things, people who have been just mangaled, brains busted out, necks snaped, the flesh pilled from thier face, thier guts hanging out, people who have been all burned up thier just little crispy critters laying there. it doesn't bother at all when i see them and i don't know why that is. i do fill bad for them though. i seem to have gotin very side tracked how did i get on this subject?

back to the thing i said about the graphic shop. i work with vinal lettering. you don't have to have any special graphis skills to do it because i know i don't have any. all it is, is button pushing, i learned how to use the program on the computer and how to run the machine in less than a day, its not complicated at all.

i not even going to act like i know what your talking about when it comes to imigration laws or what ever they are i have no comprehension of what goes on with that.
