I've been feeling like I haven't been getting anywhere with my art lately
Like I've just been doing the same things over and over again, and nothing really looks any better and then when I try something new I get picky and lose my motivation all together
It's been like this for a while now and I've become really frustrated ffs

Even if you're primarily a digital artist, experimenting with different traditional media can really help you out. An interesting thing about art is that you can't learn everything about drawing with a pencil if you only draw with a pencil. You've got to branch out and try different media! Basically, if you want to be good with a pencil, start painting. Drawing with a pencil can only teach you half of what can be learned about drawing with a pencil, paint and charcoal and pastels and so on will allow you to look at a pencil, or even your digital art, in a way that only drawing with a pencil (or tablet) would not show you.
As for becoming de-motivated because it "sucks", I'd first like to say that in the case of traditional art, it's a lot more difficult than digital art, so if you improve at traditional art you'll be like a hundred times better at digital art. Observational drawing and branching out to different media is key.
I also heard a great quote recently that might make you feel a bit better about your art, this isn't it word for word but it was something like:
"For every one good drawing you have, there are ten thousand bad ones. So, as soon as inspiration hits, you should begin drawing immediately to expel as many bad drawings as possible."
Hope that helps.
I'll take your advice and try some different things
and write a better comment in the morning otl ;;
