When Furballs Strike V (My first local meet)
General
Today I decided to take a break from the mundane and hit up a local meet, this was my first one and from what happened today I know this won't be my last.
It was pretty much a bowling event at Kenmore Lanes, a bowling alley which is far larger (A monster 50 lanes!) then the alley near me. The sheer size of it certainly helped since over 90 furs attended! Changing into suit was no problem as well since the place has a large banquet room to use as a headless lounge.
Bowling in suit was a new experience, I managed to bowl over 100 and got a couple of strikes so that exceeded my expectations. Especially considering I still don't have contacts so I'm pretty much bowling blind.
There was also plenty of antics thanks to my lane partners,
carson10us , Nico, Able, and Dyno.
Also, the Pinball Wizard in me backflipped since the place had not only Simpsons Pinball Party, but also Theater of Magic.
Oh yes, I also have to mention I finally had a positive interaction with little kids. My last interaction was with my cousin on Halloween who's TERRIFIED of mascots. Thankfully today was a whole lot better, I was able to get a couple hi-fives and a hug from a few kids. One of the Moms thanked me so that made me feel great and all warm and fuzzy inside.
The event was a lot of fun, so kudos to
kijani_lion for setting it up.
Now the dinner afterwards was rather interesting, a group of about 40-50 furs went to a Red Robin since they put a reservation there. Now while we were running a little bit late, the person who made the reservation called ahead to let RR know they're almost there etc...however once we arrived, we found out RR gave the tables away.
So there was a huge mass of furs at the enterance to a very small Red Robin, now we saw the staff moving tables around and connecting them, so we thought that would be for us. However as it turns out, the place gave the tables to parties of 1, 2, 3...tiny groups. After waiting a bit we all decided to just head somewhere else since this was going nowhere fast.
The group split up, with one big chunk going to a mexican place, while the other went to Denny's. This proved to be a good idea since both places easily took in the groups that went. I was with the group that went to the mexican place, and for a resturant that was in a strip mall...they quickly accomodated about over 30 furs with no problem. Don't know how many went to Denny's, though they said they were able to use the party room due to the size.
Both places had no problem with the groups, and I heard that over at Denny's there was a really enthusiastic lady who wanted a group photo in front of the logo. So both spots made up for the RR fiasco.
Since I know I had plenty of pictures taken of me, I'll certainly be posting them soon.

FA+

Now ironically, shortly after everyone packed up and headed out for dinner...I saw a birthday party come in and get set up with balloons, bumpers and that metal ramp to help kids send the balls down the lane. They have no idea what they missed, though then again, some of the kids seemed a little hyped up and rowdy...so I was happily content with the timid kids I got to hi-five and hug.
The mexican place was good eats, and my Mom enjoyed it as well. I'll be keeping an' eye out for other meets I can attend! *Hugs*
And big thanks to Kijani Lion for setting it up.
Over in the video that was made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx4xIC_IMIU
I found it funny the only two times you see me bowl in the vid, the first one is my first try which was a instant gutterball, while the second one was my better method of swinging it between my legs...comepleate with butt wiggle! :D
Though I'm looking forward to Chaos Reign posting his set of pics, since he was the one that took the pics of me with Theater of Magic and Mushu.
(Also, that mexican place was BOMB!) I was with Aesop and the few others who came in late and sat at the cool table on the other side of the restaurant :P
By the way, are you the one in the video that get's squeaked like crazy by Mushu?
Yes, the mexican place was seriously good eats. I did notice you and Aesop, especially Aesop who I don't think ever took his head off in the resturant. What made things even more amusing was the staff never seemed to mind, and that the staff thought my Mom was the leader of the whole bunch. XD
yup that was me, the one with all the squeaking :P
HA! That staff was so cool with all the crazyness that was happening, like it was just another normal day for them. He did end up taking his head off to actually eat, since I would think eating enchilada with a head on would be tricky.
Nice, it really looked like Mushu was enjoying your tail. XD
Yeah, enchilada's are not exactly something you can eat with a head on. As for the staff, it was great they went along with things no problem. They knew that if they serve a big group, that equeals a good payment for the day.
