It all seems soo...stereotypical :/ I think they like to have the raves for the people who like to dance and stuff because they think that's the only thing that will get people pumped, but I think a damn good dubstep set from a good DJ would still get people excited

Well hopefully someday we'll get it :P Maybe instead of trying to replace the major dances right away, start with a smaller one. A side event or something. Maybe if it builds popularity it can move to the major dances

It's probably because the dances at cons are well......DANCES. You can't really dance to dubstep unless you're made of jello or have no bones :P

Thats true. I mean its cool hearing it but furries might be like, wtf XD. Then again the fwa set was terrible and anything would have been better than that. I think if the right dubstep was chosen, the more dancable kind, it would be pretty good.

I completely agree, there do exist alot of dubstep songs that aren't quite as crazy on the wobble effects that have a somewhat regular beat; those would be great songs to use at a dance. It's just the majority of 'filthy' dubstep is not danceable to the majority of people, which should be what the DJs cater to.

Yea but DnB doesn't really have the crazy wobble effects that Dubstep has. Not saying DnB is any better, personally I think it's too fast-paced and repetitive, but I digress. Don't get me wrong, I love dub as much as anyone here, but I've been to a few events where it's been played and the dancefloors always empty, mainly because the majority of people can't dance to it. The goal of con dances is to have music anyone can get down to, and while dubstep is amazing, it doesn't really fit that category. This is all just my opinion but I have seen what happens when people try to integrate dubstep into their sets and it usually ends up with an empty floor.
