Why do you not like Satanism?
It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey. Just for starters I'd like to apologize for my lack of activity here due to personal reasons.
OK so during a recent exchange of notes between me and
my curiosity was peeked. Unfortunately our exchange of notes has come to an end leaving me wondering what is it about LaVeyan Satanism that people don't like. In an attempt to quench my curiosity I'm gonna open the floor for anyone who has a grudge against Satanism. Here you can explain exactly why it pisses you off?

THIS IS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR PEOPLE TO SPEAK FREELY WITHOUT FEAR OF BEING ATTACKED.

This thing from the other group talks in some part of that about Satanists vs some who are maybe "satanic" but not Satanists. I read that as they don't fully fit the bill.
"It takes a certain set of predispositions to accurately label oneself a Satanist, to naturally feel at home with all that Satanism entails. Satanism, as a philosophy, can be potentially taken and learned from by a large percentage of the population, but this does not make one a Satanist, but, perchance, Satanic. Qualities such as cowardice, insecurity, self-loathing, drug addiction, stupidity, constant life failures, unconditional niceness, and lack of direction (and there are MANY more) are clear indicators that the person in question and the title of Satanist are NOT compatible.
For such a person, Satanism isn't a direct reflection of one's core (as it is with Satanist’s), it can only be a human improvement program at best, which is valid on that level only. This is one distinction that many, be they Satanic "hopeful" or earnest researcher, would be better off to recognize."
So how many flaws can you have and still be a satanist? I think I have a lot of lack of direction but I think I still fit the spirit of all this pretty well.
it's fine I understand not being able to immediately deal with long responses, I get these as well.
Correct me if I have misunderstood.
(Well everyone with exception.)
We all have our angels, some are just a little misunderstood.
It never bother's me, if anything I rather enjoy listening to people's "rational" explanation of how we're damned.
Personally I can relate to it with racism. I have NOTHING agaisnt black people, but racism is so ingrained in my head, even at 31yo, I have to silence my own thoughts. fear and superiority are very hard to work through when you are programed with them
And no, this isn't being butt-hurt. It's just a miner irk I have with the common jack-ass 'bad-ass' Satanist.
Though more on that when and if I'm able to coem up with soemthign more open to discussion.
jajajjajajaj xD just kidding, I really don't enjoy the satanism... actually although I listen black metal the "satanic" music, are just stereotypical ( black metal is not satanic )... to me the satanism are the same thing of all the religions... with commandments and everything.. and If you don't follow them, you will be doom.
But the people hate satanism because is the "nemesis" of al christendom. The american people hate islam too xD and they are no satanist D:
ALL RELIGIONS ARE THE SAME THING!! MASS CONTROL!! thats the same reason I don't follow any religion D:
-The church of satan organizes rituals, writings and the use of magic, yet revolves around a chaotic realist philosophy and the only way they justify this is to call it all a metaphor. Not that it's a bad thing, but there's a big differnece between "hey the dumbass christian just thought I cursed him by saying 'ave satanas'" and "I'm going to fuck my wife on a pentagram in the presence of some guy with a goat mask, but dont' worry, it's all symbolic." Even some christians believe the supposed blood of christ really is just a metaphor, jsut wine, and yet they've still becoem corrupt and one of the most powerul institutions in human history, so laveyan satanism might be taking the wrong patch if it tries to take it's rituals too far, becuase it'll only add credence to the theories of the ignorant majority (which, let'f face it, is perfectly normal for humans to not immediately consider the cultural, social, economic & political implications of the culture shock they initially expeirnece in any similar situation) and much like today, it isn't seen as offensive, let alone revolutionay any more, it's just seen as silly and a huge joke. Using ancient non-christian deities to represent an essentally atheist religion also devalues the legitimacy of the curch's ability ot destroy a huge montheistic religion.
-ANton LaVey's history is steeped in misconceptions, a good part of them formed by himself, and his followers have carried the same air of grayness with them much like internet trolls. If your philosophy and attitude isn't clearer, again, not only will people be confused and call it silly, but the people within the church will be confused as to what's meant to be a joke, what's for real, who to trust, wh ythey do this, etc. Trickery and pranks are indeed part of the LaVeyan beiliefs, btu if it's honestly trying to make a dent in christianity, it needs to grow the fuck up. Afterall, chrisitnaity has thousands of years on the church's fifty or so.
-Joe Aufricht: his tapes are hilarious, but the fact people liek this exist turn people away from satanism for obvious reasons. The guy's creepy, annoying, possibly a pedophile, and while he states he doens't follow the church exactly, he still considers himself a part of it. His additions and subtractiosn from the original text(s) are no better than christian-born satanists i.e. the three or four suburban shithead kids who read none of the literature of the church, but wore pentacles and killed animals in the name of satan anyways. His character also highlishts an unfortunate stereotype of satanists, that they're all crazy or doped-up, or (ironically) unwilling to take responsibility for their actions.
Also, the official CoS website provides instructions on how to become a memeber, namely, senging in $200 to be considered a member. Oh please, this is the same bullshit you Satanists were trying to avoid, correct? Or maybe you all ignore that part of the initiation process. Either way, it leads me to believe that ina ddition to being created as a joke by LaVey himself, Satanism was also intended to be a cult. How ironic.
After being a victim or pretty much a lot of these sins committed by others (particularly adultery and stealing) it's hard to find how that's really a... well... tolerable, responsible, or intelligent way to act.. But that's just me...
And as I'm sure as having been said earlier.. Self-proclaimed teen satanists are frustrating.
I have my own beliefs and in most cases i guess it would be considered opposite of this one, but shit, people are dumbasses because i know alot of atheists, satanic s, etc etc that are great people, and ive seen Christians kill others because the persons religion is different. So neither side is perfect, not even close, and neither should claim to be the "only way you should live"
All in all, people need to believe in what they want and choose.
As it was said earlier, I think it is mainly the press and the wannabe teenage-angsty "Satanists" out there giving the rest of the Legitiment ones a bad reputation for being rebelious and evil, also christianity's slander of anything progressive dosen't help.
