iPads are pretty, but when they cost the same as a netbook-sized gaming laptop, yeah..

I just never understood why an iPad would be "portable", it's seriously as much of a hassle as carrying a netbook with you, just probably more "easily available"; which is what makes iphones awesome.

While that may be true, the iPhone is just merely capable of web browsing; it definitely gets the job done in a pinch with adequate speed, and can be taken anywhere at all, which is what I like about it -- but it's kind of a strain to use for too long. (my long distance vision gets messed up after using it for too long~!)

Frankly, it depends on what you want to do with it, really. When I use a computer, even with my powerful PC desktop gaming rig, 95% of it's use these days is internet browsing, instant messaging, and things like Skype. Even with a netbook, you still have to boot the thing up, which takes different measures of time based on make, SSD, etc. With my iPad, I can just flip it's cover and it's on and ready to go, instantly. And since the 3G is built in and always active, I don't need anything like one of those portable internet stick things~!

I understand your point, but it's just that for the kind of lifestyle I lead, job I do, commute I take, and activities I do, the iPad fits in snugly and serve it's purpose well, at least in my opinion, more suitably than a netbook would -- not totally supplanting my phone, either! l3 Though the iPad is essentially a small computer, I still don't really see it as such -- really, my phone is no replacement for my iPad, which is no replacement for my laptop, which is no replacement for my desktop. They just all fit into various niche parts of my life in their own ways. l3

Plus the amazing battery-life that it has that a netbook doesn't!

my netbook gets 6 hours if the iGay 2 is like any other apple product it doesn't stay alive more than 4 hours lel

i'm sorry you wasted your money on already outdated technology. The new Samsung tablet does just about 2x as much as the iGay 2 I believe. I don't see the appeal in buying something that's way over-priced just because of how sleek/shiny it looks, when you can go out and get something the same, if not -better-, for just about the same amount of money.

I already pointed out my reasons to others in this thread -- it serves my purposes perfectly well.

Not enough to warrant buying one if you have an iPad 1. Rear and front facing cameras, faster processor, and a lil' bit slimmer. I just wanted one in general, and so figured I'd get this one since it's new!
