the FaeSaga blog, for which I spent a good chunk of last night writing a new article for. This article is about user interfaces, and specifically, the evolution of the design of the equip screen. Come see some horribad concept art, and screenshots of equip screens from other games of in the classic era that share the same genre. Your input and comments in general are of course appreciated.

I was always a fan of the exposed grid menus like the ones shown in Crystalis and Soul Blazer. It wasn't complicated, it wasn't fussy, it wasn't convoluted in complex substeps to access a simple item.
