Sonic in Smash Bros. Brawl - My Opinion, since everyone else

Okay. I woke up this morning and was pointed to this site: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/char.....ers/sonic.html
Well, I damn near yelled happily loud enough for the folks 2 floors over me to hear. Why, you ask? it's Sonic. I now have even more of a reason to get myself a Wii and own this game. if for nothing else, for a true Mario Vs Sonic match.
However... there are certain... individuals who are less than pleased about this development.
Why? They put Solid Snake in there. What the hell? Snake is a good addition (I guess, considering never have nor ever WILL play any of the MGS games), but that's a character that *I* feel is really not meant to be in there. Yet, he's there, so what's wrong with opening the board to Sonic? As it stands, it looks like it's JUST Sonic. No Tails, no Knuckles, no Shadow, no Amy Rose or Rouge (whimper) and he doesn't even get a background or theme. Granted, The game's not done, but for now, it looks like it's just... Sonic. Again, I ask: What's wrong with Sonic popping up in a game where fighters from across different gaming companies are starting to merge? A lot of folks will say that Sega's just jumping on the band wagon. If that's true, then so's Konami. Anyone else in there not strictly Nintendo? Hell, why are they in there? Just because they APPEARED on a Nintendo brand system grants immediate access? Oh wait, Sonic DID apppear on a Nintendo system before this! Silly me. Sheesh. >.<
If you don't like that Sonic's in the game, good for you. Beat his ass. Don't pick him as a character. Easy enough to ignore. Me, I'm all for it. Hell, they should throw in a few other characters too. BONK! is a good one, from the old TGX16 games. and hey, what about Pac-Man? Let's throw him in there too. Oh, I know! Lara Croft! Let's throw her tomb raiding ass into the fest and see what she can do.
Meh. some people are just too damned hard to please, I swear...

=p
I was rather surprised that they threw in Snake, but, the one MGS game I've seen was good, and I'm interested in seeing how he'll fight. I'll most likely avoid using Wario at all cost. But, I can't help wondering if they'll be leaving in all the characters from the previous Smash Brothers game. And, while the Smash Brothers series brought F-Zero and Metroid and Kirby back in the limelight to get new games, but did nothing for Ice Climbers and that game with Mr. Saturn, I'm wondering how this new one will effect Kid Icarus/Pit in the future. Imagine playing an updated version of that game, or a sequel, with the Wii controler. It worked for Twilight Princess and R.E. 4.
It's not a hoax. It's real. Watch the vid too. Looks pretty good.
.........and if I save my money, I'll be able to play DDR at the arcade once, maybe even TWICE at the end of the month.
