Well in real life I have a fear of blood. So it isn't exactly something I like seeing in art :p

Growing up it was just generally explained as dangerious. It is also generally only visable during injuries or other more tramatic events. It is like you see it, it means something is wrong, possibly deadly.

First let me say that I love my movies, and my video games ridiculously violent...the more blood the better it is. and my reason for hating vampires is because I feel they are overused. in literature and story...just too overused. same with Zombies. almost all zombie movies are the same. they all have the same kind of characters and they all meet the same end. vampires is either usually a story about a hero or heroes hunting them, or the lone vampire whining about his "curse" while seeking a tragic romance of some sort. or some combination between those two. just don't find them appealing. Except for dracula: dead and loving it...Love that vampire movie. but only because it is spoofing the genre. I also dont like them because they are always depicted one of two ways: either the almost brainless blood sucking monster, (from dusk til dawn, Blade, John Carpenters vampires) or the flamboyantly dressed pale love magnet. (Dracula, Twiglight, Interview with a vampire, Love at first bite,) or again a combination of the two (The lost boys, Buffy the vampire slayer, and many others i cannot think of right now) If you could give me a fresh interpretation of a vampire I'd love to see it. just making them furry doesn't count.

When you need a vampire that loves their lot in unlife. Look no further than Alucard. You'd be hard pressed to find another vampiric character that enjoys his "work" as much as that guy.
I agree with you though that they're constantly portrayed as either whingers, or barely above zombies in terms of character depth. ("I suck, therefore I must be a vampire!")

Alucard is technically another blade. or vampire hunter D...not original at all.

Blood and gore is a lot of fun, and something I'm always happy to see more of. The bloodier and gorier, the better. And yeah, I think they're different, if closely related. Can have blood (Lots of blood, even!) without gore. The other way around is a little harder, I suppose. Though amusingly, I'm not really all that interested by most vampirism stuff. Some of it works well, but some of it just seems silly. Really depends on how it's done.

As for favorite gore pic, heh, that's a lot harder. Got a lot of that sort of thing all throughout my favorites, and my gallery. Would be hard to pick just one :>

I tend to like arcs of blood flying up the wall as a blade cleaves through it's target, Savage beast/creatures with the blood dripping from their mouth/fangs as they enjoy their freshly killed meal, much deserved gruesome ends and impaling when it comes to bloody/gorey artwork.

...I personally dislike bloody, and gory art, especially what some furs call Guru or something, whatever it is, I despise it, and see no reason why some people find it sexual, now non sexual bloody art is..alright I suppose, Just depends on how it is done, but if someone finds it sexual *shudders* no thank you

This is true, and some of the reason why blood is part of dark eroticism.

I like to see blood in battle pieces or the rougher erotic works; scratching or biting in the heat of passion especially. Personally I'm still undecided on blood for its own sake.

I would say so, yes. I find that in erotic pieces especially a little blood shows the desperation and urgency of the scene

Well, Halloween is almost here so I have time to actually do some good gore or such. :D That makes me happy.

Not a fan of blood in any works of art. I'm not sqeamish or fearful of blood, I actually see it too often then not in my line of business. But its a big turn off for me in forms of art. So definitely get two hooves down for this concept.

For me, when vampires or werewolfs attack, that's the bloody art I like. Or something with the old time movies feel to it. I think it comes across very nice then.

I personally hate it. It disturbs me. I am interested in vampires, but I don't like vampires with gore and blood, it makes me feel sick because I'm a big sissy at heart xD

Considering I own a t-shirt with a werewolf tearing a cowboy apart for cheating at poker, I think it's safe to say I can appreciate art that's a little bloody. A wolf has to eat and defend its territory after all, right?

I'm pretty squeamish when it comes to gore though. I don't really like to be able to identify the parts. I used to have nightmares after seeing a heart mascot in grade school for a don't do drugs presentation.
