And heightmapped the resulting data onto a globe, to make it look like a giant space potato. (I would have mapped it inversely- where the heaviest places would be pulled closest to the center, but OH WELL)
Curious to note, the point with the least gravity is Sri Lanka, home of a ton of Buddhist shrines and temples and stuff.
And while it would be really cool if that were significant, the heaviest place is the island of New Guinea, apparently by sheer dumb luck.
So...... neat!

...and also, if you do a little bit of searching, you'll find that the map that globe is made from was published on March 4, and there's info about GOCE going back several years. :P
