Just went into a petco nearby....two unfixed pits, that I could see, in the store for 'vet day'...one was obviously a new momma and she had fucked up cropped ears....the other was a very handsome brindle male, but not fixed....
because we totally need more pitbulls in Philadelphia...hurrrrr

Yeah it's a terrible state of things here, ngl. >.> Even though my boy is fixed, I still get people who ask if they can get puppies from him. Randomly too. We'll just be walking along, pass by some people sitting on their porches or even passing people on the side-walk, and they will literally stop me. OMG WHAR DID U GET HIM? NEEDS MOAR PIBBLES, MOAR.

I love the breed as much as anyone, but this is a little ridiculous.

Amen to that. *brofist* I've written countless papers on BSL and the suffering of pit bulls that goes along with it, and at some point I came across a rough statistic. Something like 60% of dogs in American animal shelters are pit bulls or pit bull mixes, and more than 95% of those dogs never leave. -_- And yet, if you look in the paper or on craig's list, you can find more PIT BULL PUPPIES FOR SALE than can be realistically counted. It doesn't make any sense. One of my father's workmates bought a bulldog puppy for $1500... why...

You know, I met one person on SL besides the two of us with that AV. Hers was pink and she hung out with me and Kaylink for awhile. But she's the only other one I've found. :/ Such a shame, it really is.

It really is sad what has become of the true american breed...I can't stand people who get all 'omg pit bulls are evil D<'...I ask them if they liked the little rascals...if they say yes, I say 'what was pete?'
I was going to volunteer at the DelCo SPCA here in PA....almost every single dog in the kennels (with the exception of the little dogs) was a pit or pit mix. :c
And I hate that my mom's bf outright refused to get one. Which I guess is good...he's an asshole and has a bass ackwards way of training dogs...they ended up with a retriever mix which is pretty hard to mess up with.
Its the dog fighters and people who get pits as status symbols (read: cheaper than a 'penis enhancing' sports car) and don't fucking train them.

I wish TBA had made a 'blue' one...I have a gray and a black version of the avatar...but what I love is the silvery blue color....I even PM'd them and asked if I could pay for a mod...no response...no support for the av...no custom shit like piercings or muzzles made for it... Nobody has them. :c

My friends hate me for doing that. Every time we're watching tv and there's a happy dog food commercial on, I have to point out the pit bulls. Like Rachel Ray's dog. Not sure if it's her dog, but the one that's in her commercials on her dog food- a very happy, floppy, wiggly pibble. And I'll point it out "that's a pit bull", no one ever believes me. NO ITS NOT OMG ITS TOO CUTE AND HAPPY AND FRIENDLY. I then proceed to facepalm and introduce them to Jaeger and go on a pit bull obsessed tirade.

I saw a stamp on DA this morning from someone who had no beefs with pit bulls. Seemed like a relatively intelligent person. But the stamp said "THERE ARE BAD DOGS. IT'S NOT ALWAYS THE OWNER" and the person proceeded to brow beat and go on a tirade about how pit bull supporters are ridiculous for believing that there are no bad dogs. Which I agree with to some degree- I can't say that their overall point was a false one. Some dogs are just poorly bred or have medical problems that cause behavioral issues or some other bits of weirdness that are specific to them. But the stamp's presence pissed me off. I mean, of all of the statements to be made about the breed (about any breed, really), that just doesn't seem like the right one. Seemed like a step backwards to me.... Not sure why I bring that up but this conversation made me think about it.

omg yes. When I went to get one, I was hoping for a natural blue. But the only one they had was bright shiny desu blue. I also didn't like that there was no solid colors. That it was either bi or parti colors. I happen to like solid pits, kthnx. x3 But, what can you do? Maybe one day, when I have time, I'll make a pit bull av that isn't so limited. I know how to, and I do have a 3D modeling program that can do it. But it takes time and I kind of suck at 3D modeling so... yeah. ^^;

Oh I know. The best one to bring up is Sgt. Stubbs...the most decorated military dog EVER, was a pit bull. (okay, Staffordshire bull terrier...but they are a close family and often mistaken for each other). Show 'em some old military propaganda that used dogs, a lot of them are APBT's...because it was AMERICA's breed, as we turned our backs on it. :c

I know there will always be dogs that are just too far gone in some way to be made into loving family dogs...but those few dogs aren't a reason to vilify an entire breed. And its only ever with pits (and sometimes other big dogs like rotties and dobies)...when a pit does something wrong, like bites someone or kills someone's dog or something, everyone goes apeshit....But when a dog, like a lab, does something they tone it down...'oh, a dog mauled someone........probably a pit bull'...when the picture is obviously some other breed that many people mistake for pits...Like an Argentine dogo or some kind of mastiff with cropped ears....or, hell, even boxers and labs...fffff

I wish I knew how to do some textures...I'd just make my own texture mod for the TBA pit bull. Maybe I can help you make an avatar. I like fucking around in 3d programs...and I'm getting a new computer. :D

Straight up. B3 Stubbs makes an appearance in all of my BSL based projects. Stubbs, Tige from the old Buster Brown commercials (which tends to identify with the older crowd), and celebrities that have own pit bulls- Teddy Roosevelt, Hellen Keller, Jessica Alba, and Kevin Federline. Which tends to surprise people since they assume all pit bull owners are big, beefy gangsters. x3 Stubbs is always my favorite story to tell though.

Seriously. Do you remember the story that went around a few years back? About a lady who was killed in her New York City apartment building by two dogs that got away from their owner? It was a big thing, hit all of the major news networks for some reason. That story was originally run as LADY MAULED TO DEATH BY PIT BULLS, but a few days and a million complaints later, it was revealed that the dogs were Cane Corsos (who were male and female, unaltered, and did not even belong to the people trying to contain them, but no one ever brings up those details during the reports). During my research about BSL, I've come across stories of maulings done by siberian huskies that were reported as "pit bull attacks". In fact, there is a whole website full of pit bull attack stories and I've found a good number of them featuring pictures or descriptions of dogs in excess of 100 pounds and still called pit bulls. Pit bulls are only supposed to be in the neighborhood of 50 pounds, according to their breed standard.

Ugh. Texturing is the hardest thing to do in 3D modeling. >< I did everything else right in my modeling class last semester, but texturing stumped me completely. Pitbulls don't deserve all the hate...its the people who have let down the breed by abusing them, training them to be vicious, or not training them at all...and it doesn't help that all the 'gangstas' in cities feel the need to own AND BREED obscene ammounts of pit bulls...'coz they seriously think they can make money off of breeding dogs...ugh. Its why I want to own one...I want to train it and socialize it to a point where nothing phases it and it's more well behaved than most dogs. Get one that doesn't neccisarily look like what most people think is a pit bull...then when they are all like 'your dog is so amazing, not like those nasty pit bulls'...I'd be like 'I'd like you to meet my dog, she's a pit bull. :3' and watch their :O face. XD

Cops are the worst at identifying a dog...they'll shoot because 'its a pit bull and its vicious'...no, thats a boxer and he's telling you to get off his territory......-_-

Seriously, just because its a dog attack doesn't mean its ALWAYS a pit bull.

I can say with experience: best feeling in the world please. x3 My friends are always terrified of my dog when they come over. He's a huge pit, probably part bulldog or something, he's almost 80 pounds heavy, but the moment he's allowed to greet them, it's just love and wiggles and adorable affection. People are always so surprised at how sweet he is. I remember one time, when I was walking him out in West Philly, some little kids ran up to us. Their mother was absolutely terrified and she tried to grab them, but Jaeger just put on his sweet face and she relented. By the end of the meeting, the little kids were screaming at their mother MOMMY LET'S GET A PIT BULL, THEY'RE SO SWEET. I hate children, but that was a job well done. B3

And then conversely, one time when we were at home in New York for I think it was Winter break, my friends and I ordered pizza. Now, my dad encourages Jaeger to be a guard dog (dammit dad ><) so Jaeger's gotten into the habit of barking his big, booming, I'm-80-pounds-of-muscle bark any time someone is at the door. So the guy rings the doorbell, Jaeger gives one ROOOOOF and the pizza guy literally took off down the driveway. XD We had to get in a car and chase him down to get our pizza from him, it was absolutely hilarious. A little bit sad at the same time, since Jaeger was: a) inside the house, b) fully restrained by me while my friend answered the door, c) couldn't even be seen by the pizza guy (he wasn't near any windows or even really near the door at all, the guy only guessed that there was a pit bull in the house and that was enough to make him hoof it down the road). But I thought it was hilarious despite that. Stupid, but hilarious. x3

Ah yes, Zbrush. I've only experimented with Zbrush myself but Kaylink is a whiz with it. I know that if you... export things as an obj file, I'm pretty sure that works with SL. Obj is like... standard 3D objects. I also know that you can export things from Zbrush into Max or Maya. So even if you can't export as an obj straight from Zbrush, you can from Max or Maya. Yeah, I'd really like to try this honestly. :3 Needs moar pibbles, MOAR PIBBLES (and corgies). I don't think I've ever seen a corgi av. 8( Which is silly, corgies are flippin' adorable. <3

I did some doodles in my Video class yesterday (which was boring me to tears ><) so keep an eye out for those in my scraps.

You can also apparently export a sculpt in Zbrus as a UV map...which when applied to a regular object in SL turns it into that sculpt....I tried this....kept crashing. ffff But I just got my new computer, so once I have it up and running, it'll be awesome.

Also: no corgies...only corgi-mods for like..or like...the Derp corgi, which has a generic head that all the derp-dogs have....so we gotta make a corgi that LOOKS like a damn corgi.
