London - Day 5
Day 5 of the London Experience covered a lot of miles, over a sum of 5 hours on a tour bus.
We started with getting up at 4 am for a dawn tour of Stonehenge. SO WORTH IT!! Would totally get up at Hell o'clock again for something that epic! I took 50+ pictures JUST of the stones! I loved the whole experience, walking among the henge and the stones (we got to go up and close, but not to touch, which was pretty awesome) for all kinds of pictures. Downside was that it was frickin' cold in the early morning (and I'm Canadian, so that says something) and I was in shorts (looked at afternoon forecast). I was grumbly in the moring, but when it spiked at midday, I was glad of having the shorts instead of jeans.
After Stonehenge we had a ride to Lacock, a small town that's protected and preserved by the National Trust. Oh man, so many gorgeous little buildings! The tavern we had breakfast at was built in the 1300s! Such a beautiful little place. Point, I've also discovered that waffles, scrambled eggs, and cold smoked salmon are amazing in combination. We had a bit of time to wander and got some lovely pictures of the local architecture.
Back to the bus after a short while, and we drove on to Bath. Bath is the site of the Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. We passed on the prior (high entrance fees) and wandered through the latter for over an hour. Lots of fun, despite the crop of blisters I've gathered from all the damn walking. Note to self: Next time BREAK IN the new shoes BEFORE the vacation starts.
Anyways, tomorrow we're off to Plymouth to visit a longterm online friend of mine. 3.5 hours by train each way, so I'll be getting some much needed sleep, I figure.
Later guys!

I eagerly anticipate Stonehenge pics. Also, you have now learned the same thing about travel shoes I had to learn while in Japan: don't wear brand new ones when you're mostly walking from place to place.

They had been mostly broken in, but I didn't anticipate 4-6 km a day in walking. @.@
