caught a effin virus.....=_____=

So apparently while I was away for the weekend I forgot to cut off my comp and disconnect my internet connection and when I got back home I could no longer connect to the internet, use my YIM, or various other things on my comp. I somehow got infected with the "XP anti-spyware 2011 virus" and am on a friends comp trying to find ways to get rid of it, but when I brought the antivuris program back to try to run it nothing happens bc the virus is stopping a number of my comp applications from even running. Can't open msconfig, or anything thing else on "run" command, can't go to "add/remove" programs, and can't access my security setting and a bunch of other things.....most importantly of all......CAN'T ACCESS INTERNET!!!! Which means until I find a way to get rid of this thing I won't be able to do commissions, upload pics, or even reply to messages unless I'n at other pplz houses. =_____= If anyone out knows how to get rid of this virus or has any info or tips I could use, plz let me know sumthin ASAP. *back to gatherin more info*
Well if everything else fails reinstall windows.

I had a very similar virus a little while ago... the instructions on this site are pretty much identical to the instructions I got on whatever I had. The RKill and Malwarebytes programs. They worked great. =)
1. Restart
2. one of the F-keys for safe mode
3. Get an antivirus program to kill it
4. Run it to scan your whole computer
5. Once you restart in normal mode again, you should be fine
2: Do a system restore to, like, a week ago.
3: Problem gone.
Should work.
Otherwise, get yourself Malwarebytes anti malware scanner.
That thing does a full system scan in safe mode, man, it'll rip out anything hazardous. Heck, even a few smal lgames I downloaded (that ran like shit) were ripped out.
