Here's the best damn advice I can give to you: don't let the early setbacks consume you. You'll find there are unforseen obstacles, glitches, tools you'll need but lack, and the little frustrations can pile up into one big frustration and you'll want to hurl what you've done into a bonfire and scream AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But. Then you return calmly to what you've accomplished. You sit down and gather your tools about you and make another little bit of progress. And you feed off of that, let it boost you.
And take it easy on yourself. This ain't gonna be no Michaelangelo. There will be obvious seams, a degree of awkwardness that you'll overcome in future attempts.
Now the practicals:
What I needed was this:
Foam (I used the big rolls you get at Hobby Lobby--1/2 inch or 1 inch)
A Hot Glue Gun
An Electric Carving Knife
Fur!!!
A Tape Measure
A Box Cutter
Straight Pins (to hold down glued fur till it dries)
A Sharpie
What you do is this:

Find what method suits you best, and have at it! As I said, the best advice I can give is how to handle the process, not the process itself. You are going to want to give up. You are going to think what you've done looks horrible and want to chuck it in the garbage. Don't, don't, don't give up!!!!
Keep me up to date on your progress, okay?
Great big hugs to you and so much luck!

to a sucktacular one. (Ever the king of the obvious that I am). ^.^
Other than that, all I can say is, unless you actually want your suit recalled
by the manufacturer less than a month after your fursuit is bought or made...
Don't buy/make any fursuit that uses materials made in China. ^.^
Seriously though, all I can do is wish you luck in the matter.
