He was released on BAIL. Being bailed out does not equate to innocence. There has been no trial and no verdict. He is not innocent until proven to be so in the court of law.

Actually, you have that backwards; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

However, he is still accused, and the trial will still happen. He is far, far from in the clear yet. In fact, he's probably still completely screwed, depending on how good and decisive a case they have against him. You know, that "until proven guilty in a court of law" part? There's a pretty good chance that's going to happen.

Yeah, sorry, it was very early in the morning and I meant to type guilty until proven innocent, and thus one cannot say that he is off and free and innocent just because he got out on bail.

Well, again, you're sort of wrong and right at the same time. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around, but being accused is still serious business and that trial (in which they will try their damndest to actually prove him guilty) is still going to happen. Bail is just a question of whether the alleged suspect awaits trial from home or jail. He definitely isn't free, either in the physical sense (they will be all over him if he tries to leave the area for any reason) or in the "free of the charges" sense (he's definitely still going to be tried.) He certainly hasn't been acquitted yet, and likely won't be if the case against him is strong and decisive enough.

to be honest they SAY that, but if they assumed he was innocent at the start they wouldnt have arrested him. they say it backwards to make people feel better.

Bail=/=innocent. There will be a investigation, a trial and finally a verdict.
