Hello Hello!!!
Well we had our Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief: Silent Auction and Raffle Art Auction last night! A few of the college Alumni put this together since it was horrible and our school has strong ties with Japan (we have an exchange student program with our sister schools in Niigata). So we were really excited yesterday to finally see what was put together in a matter of less than a month. We got a little bit of support from local business and one of the alumni's mother's company offered to match what we raised last night. All of the food was on a potluck system. We had two live grills with hamburgers, hotdogs, and veggie burgers. We had pasta salad, onigiri, and gyoza. And I took a half a day off of work and made shortbread cookies and mini apple tarts. The auction was from 5:00 - 9:00 pm we had a little difficulty finding a person that would let us use some space but thankfully someone (apparently he's the new college gallery director but I graduated in 2007 so I didn't know who he was) let us use the bottom of his loft apt and the bands set up in his bedroom above.
Our auctions ended at 7 and 7:30 (so we could have time to call the raffle and distribute things). So in a matter of 2 hours and including the amount that the company matched us with, we were able to raise $4,299.12 to send over. YAY!!!! We did REALLY well for poor art college alumni!
Everyone who's gotten commissions from me knows that I, personally, donate 10% of all of my commissions to charities. But this sort of event makes the selfless even more selfless so without further ado I want to make a special shout out to

OP
Now I'm stupidly exhausted hehehe. Well right now I'm just tired out... but last night I was stupidly exhausted. I got home at 1:30 so I baked, cooked, and assembled things until 4:15... ran an errand, and then was at the show until 9. Didn't sit the entire time. I got home made my roommate/best friend food, put laundry in, I ended up passing out around 11:30 because my patapon kept dying (I wasn't focused). Got up to get and fold the laundry around 2 am and fell back to sleep. Oooo and anime Boston is this weekend!!! I'll be tuckered Sunday HAHAHA!

Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Definitely a worthy cause.
