Well if it's anything to go by, MK is banned down here in Australia so it must be good right?

Though I have managed to play both and to go on how much stuff you can play... MK has the story mode, arcade, krypt and I think 300 challenges to complete plus from what I hear the online is pretty good too. MvC3 is good as a fighting game if you play it online or have friends... not alot of relpayable unless you fight alot of friends or people online.
If I have to personally say, I'd go with MK.

I haven't played MK yet, but MvC3 to me was kinda anticlimatic. No storyline, all the offline singleplayer stuff is really simple and short. I guess it might have better replay value if you spend more time using live, but that's about it.

Mortal Kombat...trust me..if you play online on MvC3 expect ass load of spammers.

I agree. But in my opinoin i say get both. If you leanr how to get around the spammers in MVC3 you'll be unstoppable. Mortal Kombat(MK9) is pretty much stable.

Why not get a game that isn't a fighting game? XD THERE'S A REASON YOU'RE PUTTING THEM DOWN A WEEK AFTER YOU GET THEM. THEY'RE REPETITIVE.

Try Portal 2. Unbelievably fun.

MvC3 is good for mindlessly beating the shit out of each other, but the fighting is who can land more cheap shots. MK actually has a story behind it, and the fighting requires skill to win. So,really, it all depends on what you want.

The new Mortal Kombat is surprisingly promising compared to the past iterations, my friend is a major fighting game afficionado, and even he grew tired of MK after short notice.....but this one, he's told me he's gotten seriously hooked all over again. :)

MvC3 is okay, but it's constantly getting patches and such to keep rebalancing the characters out, so it's still essentially a chaotic shoot-out no matter who gets tweaked or how you master your character. D:

Mortal Kombat has a much more robust single player component. MvC3 is a great game with a diverse cast, but they really don't give you so much to do outside of Arcade Mode, Training Mode, and online.

Both would be worthwhile purchases! I am getting Mortal Kombat today so :3

I would get MvC3...If you're playing with buddies, online or off! Otherwise don't waste you're time, you'll get bored with the 1 player stuff in a hurry.

XD Personally I wouldn't get either if I wanted a game that's supposed to last for weeks and weeks! Newer games just aren't meant to do it unless you play online.

Get Mortal Kombat, gonna be worth it. I've played the demo and that enough makes me want to buy it. MvC3 I haven't picked up and played in over a month and I only played it for a few days.

Don't get MvC3, they're releasing a Super version some time in the next year or so. Just get that.

I played both yet own MK. Trust me MK blows MVC3 out of the universe. So go for MK.
