Just curious, because of somethings that've happened to me lately--
How much separation is there between you yourself and your character? I know this runs the whole range from 100% opposites used only for escapism all the way to being exactly identical as far as personality and body type and emotions. So I'm wondering what some of you think about that.
It's weird for me because Arathdragon's always been mostly the same as me but still a separate thing. But recently some things that've happened to the dragon have started bothering me IRL. Nothing serious or anything. Just kind of a weird feeling I guess.

However, in some cases, the creature that they project is actually what they are in spiritual form. In my case, Mazurek is NOT me. I may get the ''heebie-jeebies'' over some things that I place him in while it is forming, but it has no effect on who I am.
I am one of the dragon crowd, but my draconic identity is not my focus of attention. Maz is my 'baby', so to speak, and is strictly a RP Character I have been using since around 2002
wash your hands :p
It depends. My character has a bunch of strange facets that he fits into when it is concerning myself.
Like, there's the "Story Version" who is somewhat different than myself, but not by a whole lot.
And then there's the more direct "Avatar Version" which is just his personality and mine are the same.
I don't know if that made sense but it makes sense to me. >.>
He's still a separate entity to me though, since I refer to him as him and not always 'me'.
And that makes sense, too. Like those two versions got criss-crossed in this situation. Ha.
Uhh...yeah...what you said. 8U
The only way that I can explain it is, we are attached to our fursonas. No matter their likeness to ourselves, we are still attached to them or connected with them through the simple fact that we created that fursona, and we have put whatever effort we felt necessary into moulding their identity.
So everything that happens to that fursona, whether it be in roleplay or if it's just the public's reaction to your fursona, we are affected within ourselves as the player, one way or another. It's just normal, I think.
