Sony's Play Station Network got hacked fairly recently, which was something they didn't admit to until about a week after it happened. Not only does that mean the network's down, but also people who had their credit cards on their might be in trouble

Playstaytion's network crashed last week. A day or two ago Sony announced that they had been hacked, and the hackers got personal data. So name, addresses, passwords, credit card info, yeah hackers got those.

If you're signed up to the PSN network, someone hacked their data and stole a pile of personal info, possibly including credit card info.

I don't really care that the PSN is down, as I don't play online much anymore. I'm just worried about my info being leaked, as I did have my card linked on there. I'm definitely taking it down first chance I get when the PSN goes back up.

That's basically the meat of everyone's woes right now. No on-line play is one thing, but leaking sensitive info is a whole nother ball game.

Exactly, I'm so stressed out about it, my stomach gets that horrible sinking feeling everytime I see anything about it pop up somewhere.

Thats clearly fan made hate video, seeing as Sony shut the entire thing down worldwide the second they noticed and the FBI even got involved and they got specialists in to find out what happened, and then told people what had happened the second they found out and have been keeping us updated on the issue.

IIRC essentially it was them saying they will share your info with 3rd parties... I can't recall in what capacity though... luckily I have no info on mine and have never used a credit card on it.

What I don't get is why they didn't have any security measures implemented. I bet Kevin Butler himself wrote the User account code. Either that or a crooked consultant who charged £150/hour for his proven experience in ZX81 programming.

In these grim times, I can only laugh at the thought that I still play the N64 and haven't even considered buying any of the new consoles(because their games don't really catch my eye). Back in my day a vidya game system didn't -get- personal information so it certainly couldn't -give- it to anyone ^0^; -shuffles off on a walker while making old people noises-
