You know, I'm starting to see a pattern. The more I've talked with people, the more I've seen the same thing. Boys, who consider themselves completely straight, as they rate themselves on the Kinsey scale (a self-assessing scale that tells how hetero- or homosexual you are, or lack thereof) find themselves mildly attracted to single male or gay furry art, particularly artwork that depicts effeminate males (femboys, traps, and the like). I know that this has been the case for myself (which is why I have defined myself as bi), but the sheer number of people that this occurs to is staggering. So there must be a parallel here between straight males and male furry art. Quite possibly it could be to the fact that furries, since they are not depicted as a human by their very definition, take on a more asexual characteristic within the male mind, and therefore make it slightly more attractive (and here come the flames). Or, perhaps animals in general take on a more feminine role within the human brain, and therefore make the depiction slightly more enjoyable to males. This could also explain the lack of female furries within the fandom (think about it, count the number of furry girls you know, then count the number of guys). At this point I don't have enough evidence to make a reasonable conclusion, nor do I have an adequate way to test this theory. Perhaps getting together a number of open-mined straight males and setting two factors: a control where pictures of regular men are shown and the dependent variable where they are shown pictures of furry men. Then they are ranked on a scale of 1 to 10 to find the level of attractiveness they find the picture. One would expect the furry picture variable to show a higher mean score.
