there's nothing wrong with facebook, you just got to keep it clean.

I don't like how it tries to get everywhere and erode privacy. Also carries out rules without caring about the consequences. And everyone is using it. :/

Its not so much it tries to erode privacy as it tries to make communication and connecting easier. Its only the information we give it. Plus its easy enough to set it so that only friends can see your pages. Sure they use your stuff for adds, but in this day and age, everyone does.

It does. By forcing people to keep all their information in one place and integrated with various sites it has been accused of eroding people's authenticity. It's insistence on people using real names and not pseudonyms has led it to delete pages that shouldn't have been deleted, the one I remember was a Chinese human rights proponent who publishes under a pseudonym for protection. Even when you have things set to private it was recently accused by Symantec of having an information leak, which they confirmed and fixed but claimed nothing was stolen. Also even leaving things private Facebook has led to people losing their jobs for stupid reasons, for example one teacher was fired for posting a picture of her European holiday where she was holding a glass of wine.
