Hello Everyone,
Politics surround us, whether it is for National Security or National Unity, It affects all of us no matter where we reside and divides us because of opinions that most often conflict so violently that negotiations are impossible. Politics evolve from determining the best route for those represented to mud slinging greed and overwhelming desire for power. Which brings me to this horrific discovery posted here:

Matters that do not "concern" us little folks have potentially impacted something that has unified people from all walks of life and political beliefs. Yes, as I am sure you are aware of, Lauren Faust, creator and Executive Producer of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has effectively been removed from the show beginning Season 2 and will be a "Consulting Producer". Her creativity in observing and integrating what fans of the show desire and speculate, in addition to the already top notch writing and comedic timing, will most likely be quashed.
Has Hasbro killed the golden goose out of greed now they know how much of a hit show they have? Does Hasbro believe that because of the intense following of fans outside of the intended audience, those of whom generally have more purchasing power than those originally intended, they can continue to market and appeal to this audience they are so incredibly disconnected from? Like most other conglomerates who do things like this, they discover, only far too late, that by trying to extract as much money from the consumers quickly instead of over a longer period of time, they effectively destroy themselves. New Coke, the "new" Tropicana container graphics, dropping of Family Guy, etc. demonstrate just how disconnected and removed corporate heads are from their target consumers. Coca-cola, Pepsico and Fox easily recover from these tremendous losses, but others, and perhaps Hasbro, will just pull the product without regard once those severe failures are revealed. Unfortunately, by that time, those ousted cannot just say, "We told you so" because the bean counters would rather cut their losses instead of trying to resolve the problem.
We can only be optimistic that Hasbro understands what they have in their possession and knows how to manage it properly, else Season 2 of MLP:FIM will be the last and the golden goose "cooked".
Love,
Neysa

Instead, the stockholders blamed the animators and writers and expected the money to flow in like the previous movies. Disney eventually downsized and in the long run, killed the 2D department. Sadly The Princess and the Frog had the wrong demographics and did poorly, thus insuring that 2D movies are dead from Disney.
Deep down I fear that Hasbro will kill the Golden goose that is FiM. Already I see that the toys available are just repackaged earlier generation ponies that look like long legged hippos. Though there is one set thats Target Exclusive that has the girls with molded hair and dead on to spec with the series...though Princess Celestria is Pink...afterall, little girls love pink according to Hasbro.
When I see everyday people talk about ponies...you know its a great thing, upon seeing high end 'suits' discussing ponies...watch out!!
'Nuff said.
I didn't put it together that Dash was flying (jumping) over the shark.
It is still really unfortunate that the studio is losing her because she has been a very effective ambassador of their product and was really good interfacing with the fans of the show. That will probably be missed most of all.
However, its easy to forget that this show was a team effort. While I'm worried about the future of the show myself, as its one of the few cartoons put out in years that actually seems to trust its audiences enough not to ram things down their throats, I'm still trying to be positive about the fact that the rest of the animation, writing, and layout teams are still working on this show.
In fact http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/.....2-updates.html has a fairly decent post about it.
I am heartbroken that the woman who literally revived a series in such a brilliant way isn't going to be involved with it anymore, but I try to remain hopeful. I don't know the circumstances surrounding Ms. Faust stepping down, whether it be due to Hasbro's mismanagement or simply just being overwhelmed perhaps (Though it does sound as if it came as a bit of a surprise to her too). I guess we'll have to see how season 3 shapes up. If it loses that edge, timing, and most of all, the heart of the characters, I'm sure Hasbro will dump it, like they've dumped other butchered lines under their control (Wizards of the Coast, for example, having several lines cut, books cut, and with the exception of this year, rounds of layoffs at Christmas that saw huge amounts of talent leave the company).
In a perfect world, the fan outcry would get Ha$bro to reconsider, but as you've stated, sometimes corporations just haven't got a clue what is going on outside of the statistics on the numbers sheets. I know if I was making immense amounts of money on a revived line, I would pay top dollar to keep in place all of the people who are making it successful, but executives don't operate in conjunction with common sense.
So I hope. I'll support the series as long as it remains what it is.
My theory is that MLP:FiM did two important things:
One, it was a proof of concept show -- it has proven that animation for little girls doesn't mean "pink ghetto" and it can be genuinely entertaining.
Two, she gets paid for creating what is essentially a twenty minute toy commercial, which means she has money and financing she didn't have before.
Her goal is, and has been, her own show, and the success of MLP:FiM is making it possible.
The REAL bad news would have been if MLP:FiM had flopped, and she had to handle it personally just to pay the bills.
I say cut the lady a break, recite the MST3K mantra, and relax.
