I think it depends on the rap/rap artist really. Some of it's good, some of it's okay and some of it sucks. I really don't like mainstream rap because it's got that "bitches and hos" theme, but I like rap that actually talks about change, revolution, different lifestyle perspectives, etc.

Eminem is the only rapper I tolerate.

Rap, like every other form of music or art, is something you have to do right. It's not an easy formula to do properly, either. The majority of rappers I see seem to think that rapping is nothing but talking into a microphone while the band does their thing in the background and gets no credit.

Like Joss, there aren't many rappers that I find tolerable. Eminem is one, tobyMac is another, and with that I have exhausted my list of likable rappers.

I think rap is very hard to do, and I only like it in Horrorcore form. ICP <3 <3 <3 <3

Don't like Eminem though. He should be punched in the dick since he's such a whiny brat attention whore. The only song I like by him is "I Love the Way you Lie" and that's because I love Rhianna's voice in that and it's actually kinda creepy in a GOOD way. Unlike skeletons in my closet or whatever that song name is.

I prefer old school like N.W.A and Public Enemy, and rap from Busta Rhymes, DMX, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Twista, etc. I also like horror-core a lot, particularly Sutter Kain. In general, I like my favorite rap done like my favorite metal: crazy fast and insanely violent; shit that I can vent to!
