Goodbye Stargate

General
They showed the final episode of Stargate: Universe, which at the same time was the final episode of the entire Stargate franchise.
MGM, the producer cancelled the series and all planned movies, and there isn't any signs for them to pick them up any time soon.
Ten seasons of SG-1, five seasons of Atlantis, and two seasons of Universe. Total of seventeen years of Stargate.
I really loved the series. SG-1 and Atlantis were brilliant, and Universe was rather good. Different from the first two.
Yeah, that's a bit of my nerdiness.

FA+

but yeah, thats a bummer... i would have watched new stargate movies :T
Sorry, not sure if you liked SGU but... Yeah. Stargate's a favorite of mine though. :D
SG-1, it was so different from other, regular Sci-Fi, and then, there was Atlantis.
SGA was the best of all, to me. I even own a Pegasusgate in Second Life, and I already just... sat there, in front of it, all Night long.
It just looks so beautiful...
Well, and then, there was SGU.
After I've seen one of the first Episodes, I was... really disappointed.
It didn't feel like Stargate at all, somehow. The Camera Work rrreeally sucked IMHO, didn't show any Detail I was used to love so much.
Blinding Spotlights everywhere, but even though, it was dark as hell and you couldn't see anything of the Surroundings.
Either it was dark or it was blinding, sometimes even both. Wow, how did they manage that? And almost all of it were Facial Close-Ups...
The Gate itself, which is used to be kind of the 'Heart' of the Series, lookes a bit strange, and cheap compared to the others - they just spinned it in its whole. No movable Parts, no locking Chevrons in any Way, the Symbols themselves just lit up - could anyone tell them apart? I even managed to do that for the Pegasus-Gate, but not for the Universe Gate... D:
Well, later, my good Friend Celshin convinced me to watch some Episodes again, and FINALLY, there were some rare Detail Shots like the Destiny diving into a Star, showing the Bussard Collectors [Bussard Ramjets] we all love so much collect Deuterium or Hydrogen, at least I suppose that's what was shown. Or major Space Battles - I changed my Opinion about Destiny alittle.
After all, the 'End' of Stargate will never come.
It's Fans like us, who keep it alive. Who are doing RPs in SL with Stargates, who are doing great Mods for great Games, even writing Stories.
As long as we don't want it to die, it will continue to exist, in each one of us.
. . .
Did that sound abit exaggerated...?
Well. =D
