I've got the write stuff!
Well, it's that time of the year again. Time to buy up a bunch of candy in preparation for the big event: the National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short! Who needs a Halloween costume when you can literally take up residence in a fictional world for a month and be whatever you want to be?
Come to think of it, that makes me sound like one of those Everquest nerds. Anyway, this year, an extra hour has been added to NaNoWriMo, courtesy of the United States and Canadian governments (and possibly others), in the form of the end of Daylight Saving Time. That's right: if you've been considering NaNoWriMo in the past but thought, "I could never do that, I don't have enough time to", then this year is your year, for there has never been more time to write it than there is now.
In my novel this year, which probably will never see the light of day, my character CW encounters a demon born from his own amnesia, and must defeat him once and for all. Said demon has taken over the body of one of his own cubs, of which he has no memory of, and who comes back to kill him. Meanwhile, his daughter Sara meets a certain trickster god... but said god will soon find he is in over his head, for Sara has had more than enough experience dealing with her own best friend Rusty.
Which reminds me, I really need to finish the time travel story I started during last year's NaNoWriMo.

Will you be posting this latest Nano here on FurAff? And where can I read the others? You've been doing this all this time? And how many questions are allowed on a reply to a journal entry? ;)
Your questions:
a) Only if it's finished and good enough.
b) If you can hack into my computer, they're all there.
c) This is my seventh year participating in NaNoWriMo.
d) 255. One more, and the counter resets to zero and all your questions are lost.
Bah! Pulling stuff from thin air is the true sign of a fiction writer. I mean, why else would we be keeping these artistic licenses around?
Heh, I lack 1337 haxxor skillzzorxx, so your compootxxxor is safe... xxxorz...
You know, you could probably just make a book out of all the nano. ;)
I probably could make a book or three. But I'm lazy right now. *Grin.*
You're not alone when it comes to the laziness affliction. ;) I'm supposed to be looking for a job... it's been a few months now. But the one plus side of unemployment: it sure beats workin'!
Really? I've been landscape gardening all summer, working for a local company. And now that the company's season is over, I've got my own clients phoning me with jobs. It's great!
Heh, way back when, I used to work for a friend of mine's father who did that... My hands used to kill me after laying sod all day long...
Way to go, CW! Quite the entrepenuer! <sp>?
Isn't that "entrepreneur"?
I've done a lot of things. Most of the ones that made me feel sweaty and tired, I learned to avoid, though. ;) My favorite, was building houses... minus the roofing part. I like building things...
DOH! The R! THAT'S what I forgot! You know I stared at that word for like... five minutes wondering why it didn't look right to me? ;)
It's a difficult word to spell, Rindi. I'm sure I've come across a few that I can't spell either.
Oddly enough, my roommates wonder the same thing about the evilness thing. I speak my mind about crazy ideas, but am not compulsive about needing to do them... Unlike my roommate N8. In D&D terms, I'm lawfully evil, and he's chaotic evil. ;)
And in CW terms, you're lazily evil. *Grins.* I like to think of myself more as chaotic neutral. Not quite evil enough to come up with Doomsday Devices, but not quite good enough to want to defeat them, either.
Ha ha! I'd argue the lazy part, but... I uh.... *snores*
Nah, I've been working on all sorts of little projects... Got a goofy song almost ready for uploading to furaffinity... Perhaps my next project should be a tamper-proof doomsday device. ;)
I finally got a new computer today, after using an old and busted one for years, as my current FA profile has indicated! Now I know I should get everything all set up and stuff, but I really want to play a video game or ten.
*Carefully lays a blanket on the sleeping cheetah, then sneaks away to steal some of his cookies.*
Interesting. I'll be watching for them. ^^
LOL, congrats on the new machine.... I'm not fixing mine until I either win the lottery, or actually become employed...
Yeah, this song is all baudy and the like, but ironically, is taking forever to get it right... It's always interesting to me how I put so much effort into things that don't earn me cash, or serve no purpose in this life. ;)
I felt that way, until I decided it wasn't logical to wait until my computer breaks down for good before upgrading. ;)
Oh, definitely. I don't think I'm going to get any money from participating in NaNoWriMo, but I do it every year...
