Also, I'm with Sery. The best way for artists to make money is through COMMISSIONS, and not paysites. Save the paysites for photographers.

If neither is available, then an a artist can do work for individual enjoyment to pay for the artist's livelihood. If someone is willing to shell out money to help support the artist in exchange for seeing extra side work from them, why not?

Commissions are very very risky. They are an unsteady revenue stream, highly competitive, you can be screwed out of a payment and nobody respects the number of hours most artists devote to creating a piece.

It's why I tend not to do freelance work either :p

They are, which is why I respect the artists. I usually tell them to simply work on my commissions when they want and not make them a big priority. I prefer the artist to be happy with the work, and to enjoy doing it, rather than thinking of it as a job.

After watching Myoti and TeTarga and Myoti's lady draw things, whether through OC or in-person, I know it can take a while, and I know any real artist will put devotion and effort into the time they spend on the art, so I prefer to know that while doing such, they're also enjoying their self and not turning it into stress.

Aa long as it's not prohibitively expensive, I'd like to support the idea. I need more awesome diaper arts.

Honestly, I don't like paysites one bit. They're a fantastic way for artists to get screwed by the few and the brave who do rips to those loveable russian domained sites C&Ds can't touch. It's okay but honestly I think given that people are smarter and good searchers and better ISO hunters, paysites for people in net-savvy interests are on their own path of the dinosaur. Might be entirely everything too, clubstripes absolutely does not have better quality nor quantity of art at all compared to most good finds.

Artists get screwed either way. At least with a paysite they can still make some money regardless.

After all, Adobe is still around, and porn is still among the most profitable industries in the world.

I just meant it in the sense that I think paysites are on the way out and honestly you're in the right market already. (commissions) are you just looking for a little bit extra money on top of that? Because it's just confusing, unless you want this to become career sized money, and that's not happening for anyone in the industry for this stuff anymore, AFAIK

I'm really not trying to be mean about it. I just don;'t think the market in terms of what was is still there anymore. And no offense, I don't think even clubstripes provides decent quality artwork in enough images to warrant a penny for their time back when they first started, the lot of them. *now*, maybe $10 would be okay for a month assuming it's all you were paying. A decade ago a friend of mine used to buy $50 2 hour hentai DVDs and *like it* this year you can get for $50 a month for a site that lets you fully download 1 Terabyte worth of videos alone and tens of thousands of images nobody else would have. Ultra-niche does not let you get away with lack of quantity, and even the amount you're saying will be there is very underwhelming.

It certainly is a nitch market that hasn't quite been tapped yet so it could be worth it. However, I hate to say it but I can't see it being a very viable business plan as just a pay site.

The biggest reason is that without quality content that anyone outside of it can enjoy you won't draw in new members to the paid sections, or certainly not as much as you'd like. Also, without that large outside member base driving up unique visits you won't get very far on the page rank either.

I would recommend looking into a site called NetTuts+ and how they work their business strategy to employ people to purchase a membership. Basically they use the fact that they deliver a lot of quality content to the community for free; however, they do have a premium membership which gains people access to the extremely good articles but they never completely shut out the free people. By doing it this way they still retain a huge amount of web traffic which helps with the Google page rank while having a business model that generates a profit on top of their advertisement revenue from the page traffic.

I just feel like most of the pay sites, much like Onta's HardBlush, use a linear business plan without investigating a bigger market potential. Yes, the pay site will generate revenue in some form but chance are those images WILL be leaked onto the internet and at that point you're at a loss for how to get people to actually go to your site and pay for the content.

It's the same issue as people who torrent music off the internet. All of a sudden the music industry had to take a new direction and provide their music for free; however, with an advertisement before it or after a few songs and such. That's why Pandora is so successful, they took the music industry, looked at the things that weren't being done and did them. It's coming up with every possible scenario that could happen with your content and making the appropriate arrangements to ensure you can still make it in the market.

Information is easy to hold as a premium service. Providing free information will pique peoples' interests and make them desire more.
Fap material not so much. After all if the person looking through the site gets off on the free stuff they have no incentive to look further.

Using what you have said though why would they bother to pay at all? There are a lot of sites that can provide work of the same quality for free so it's hard to say that really.

I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying I don't believe anyone is really doing it right. It's just simply my two cents, feel free to take it as you please.

That's just it, there aren't any sites that can provide the same quality of art. That's the whole reason I decided to create the paysite :p

I suppose you'll probably have to prove me wrong on this one then. I'll be sure to check in to at least see how it comes along. ^^

well.... i'm for it. even though i never actually drew the stuff. the whole diaper thing is too-oft maligned.

I'm aginst the paysite idea, I do not have any means of paying for such a subscription and actually steer clear of such sites, even tho I am gonna do diaper arts i will not use the site.

I first started watching you quite a while back, before you even admitted to doing diaper stuff, which was a nice surprise.
I dunno, I just can't justify 10-15 dollars a month for MAYBE 4 pics a month.
All the power to you trying to get your work out there more, but I can safely say I'll just see what ends up on the internet.

I started following your art a long time ago, before this site existed I think. Back on Macrophile. Is that site even there still? haven't checked it in ages...

But back on topic, I'm sad to see you go behind a pay wall, but at the same time I understand it and even approve of the decision. Your art is top notch, and deserving of pay. The reason I mention when I started watching you for your art is because it was long before you admitted to being in the diaper stuff. It, along with a few of your other drawing topics, really aren't my thing, but I still looked forward to your art since it was so well drawn, definitely among the best. And every so often you would draw something that I was into, usually process related, which was awesome for me.

but I'm not sure I can afford 10 or so a month for art I kinda only really like for the quality, not the content. On top of that, while I don't mind diaper (in fact some of your pics almost converted me, so to speak) I absolutely cant stand some of the diaper content of other artists (like messy/scat). Would the site involve that? Would it involve any non-diaper material like you used to and sometimes still post? would there be related themes such as age progression/regression, shrinking, growth, etc etc. Also, will you still post some drawings here or elsewhere every now and then?

Sorry for all the questions when you are unlikely to have all the answers at this time. Regardless whether or not I find it worth it to join your site as a paying customer, I wish you luck and hope it does well for you. I'm sure everyone into diaper will be interested in constant content from an artist of your caliber =)

Nothing wrong with spreading your share to multiple baskets. If this were a permanent and exclusive shift I could see the complaints, but it's just an extra venue to what he already has open to him. Like he said, he's not going to stop doing what he normally does here, so for people disinterested in the paysite idea, it's not like you're going to run into some dearth of material all of a sudden. I say go for it. Even if it fails it can't hurt to try, and here's hoping it takes off, since, like you said, a more reliable source of income presents more opportunities for art on other ends as well.
