what brand you going with? is for home defence or conciled carry?

the one i carry is a smith and wesson body guard, 38 special, 5 shot revolver, its the feather weight, they make a feather weight and a air weight the air weight is unbeliavably light. i keep it in my boot. the pistol i want for my hip gun is the colt 1911, 45 acp., semi auto, 7 rounds in the mag plus 1 in the chamber.

what ever you get dont get a 9mm it doesn't have enough nock down power. its a small light weight bullet that travels very fast it pirces through a target easily it good for someone who is wearing alot of clothes but if they are all doped up on some thing and they are comeing at you it wont stop them unless you hit them perfect you could be pumping them full of lead and there is a good chance that they will keep coming. you can look at the difference between a 9mm and a 45 not the size but the build of them. the 9mm is small and fast the 45 is large and slow. that big slow moveing bullet isnt designed to pirce a target to designed to punch a hole in it. if you shoot a man in the chest or abdomen (center mass) its going to put him down and he aint getting back up. the balistics of the bullets are compleatly different. the 9mm when fired in to a soft target suck as a man it makes a 9mm holw going in and a 9mm hole comeing out just a straight shot through. the 45 makes a 45 cal. hole going in and a massive exit wound coming out, it pushes through the target and drages material with making the damage larger as it travels through the target. look at the design of the bullets when decideing on a gun. i myself like nock down power over bullet penitration and more rounds in the clip because when i shoot somebody i dont want there to be any chace that they will get back up again. look at the size of the gun if its a carry gun you dont want one that will seen you want one to be perfectly consealiable.

if its for home defence i would go with a shotgun preferiably 12ga. pump action with a short barrel as short as is allowed. you see the sound of a shotgun action being worked is known universaly, say you are a burgaler,your in a house, your sneaking around and you here a metalic * CHICK-CHICK* you are going to konw exactly what it is and your going to get the hell out of there. the sound of that gun will instantly strike fear into their heart and you might not even have to shoot someone. i dont know what the laws are up there but dont use double 00 buckshot for home defence because it will penitrate through walls and can hit some who is not an attended target. go with a lighter load. i dont but its smart to do so. i have a remington 700 super mag thats got a slug barrel with rifle sights, trench gun cover, an extened tube magazine, and an ammo holder on the side of the shock. i keep 3 and half inch magnum #4 shot shells, 2 and 3 quarter inch slugs, dime shot, and a couple dranogs breath flamthrower shells in mine (yes just like the ones off black ops they do exist and they have the same effect). i want to get some of those bola shells they shoot 2 12ga balls that are connected with a cable, when they are fired they start spining you get what happens to to target. it might be a little bit of over kill but what the hell.

HAHAHA! Your shotgun advice is stellar. I actually ahd that exact conversation with a friend of mine. I'll explain gun laws here in Canada before I continue as you seem to know your guns as the name "foxsnimper" would imply ^_^

In Canada guns must be stored with a trigger lock in a locked cabinet with amunition stored seperately (not in the gun) Aditionally there are two seperate licences for guns one for rifles/shotguns and another for pistoles of sorts (huge restrictions apply) Pistols cannot be carried with you at all. The only time you can take a pistol out is to drive to the shooting range which before you do you must call some office and tell them you are going. They will give you the shortest route to the range and you must take it with the pistol in a locked box away from you. You cannot make ANY stops in between.

So as you see laws here in Canada are GRAVELY different from america, that being said For a pistol I really want a long barrel revolver as they are more acurate and are powerful. The kind of guns used by old cowboys in westerns. Any suggestions? I will also be getting a pump action shotgun and a rifle. Primarily I want to do alot of precision shooting as I ADORE precision shooting and am fairly good at it. Shotgun of course doesn't need to be percision... as it's a shotgun ^_^

OMG how the hell are you supose to shoot somebody if all your guns are locked up. i would not last long in canada i would be thrown in the penitentury for a long time no i would be barried under neith it and forgoten about, wait they could do that now. i've broken so many of the gun restriction laws here it aint even funny and i know a good deal about explosives, pipe bombs, smoke bombs, and home made land mines. i got one of the millitays old training manuals and began reading it and there was a section all about land mines how to operate and use them to a tactial advantage and there were blue prints of them in it so yaa that was a happy day for me.

okay i've gotten a little off subject. there are ways around almost anything you just got to ge creative. gun storeage you said the ammo had to be stored seperatly not in the gun but what about on the gun? is there any restriction on the ammo like special ammo?

what kinda accuracy are you looking for in a pistol? you would be amazed on how accurit a pistol can be. i took my 38 special and hit a clay disc with it that was laying on the ground an 50 yards, i did it on the first shot no one believed i could do it and i proved them wrong, this gun is a small gun its a snub nose it has a 2 inch barrel low sights and no hamer so you have to pull the triger full length and its a hard pull to try and hold and on top of that i was fireing hallow points the most inaccurit round made but very powerful.

im actually getting into the cowboy action shooting i've got family that have been the national champs and im having them teach me how to do it. if you want a cowboy gun i would have to recomend the most iconic one the colt peace maker, 45 long colt, 6 shot, and barrel length my varrey. the gun is short of heavey but it keeps the recoil down whith is good because it fires a big load. when you buy a gun look at the size of the bullet and the weight of the gun. bigger bullet heaver gun less recoil, big bullet + light gun = pain.

you like to do percision shooting i do to. you know the olympic spot percision air rifle i qualify as expert according to there rules. what kinda rage are we talking about for percision shooting? i like to shot extreme long range a 1000 yards and up to a mile. i got to go with the 50 BMG. for this one the largest sholder fired rifle in the world, i dont even know if thats legal up there. they are trying to get ride of them here you know what i say to that COME AND TRY TO TAKE IT!!! the gun i really want is a semi auto 20mm anzio it is one B.F.G you get bonus points if you can figure out what BFG means. go look up 20MM anzio rifles on the internet and you will see. i would have to recomened a remington 700 bolt action in 223. or 300 win.mag. i like the 300 because of the nock down power and a little more range but it is affected by the wind a little more too. dont get the remington 770 it has some flaws i know from experience. another recomendation the remington V.T.R (varmit tactical rifle) in 223 or 308. what ever you preferance is it looks different then other guns its got a triangular barrel you'll know it when you see it.

shot guns you would be suprised on the acctual percision and reach of a shot gun. i took my mossberg 875 pump action with me hunting one day and i spoted a rabbit an about 80 yards or so and i wondered if i could hit it or not so i screwed in the super full choke and inserted a 3 and a half inch magnum shell and fired and to my amazement it fell to the ground dead i was like wow guns got some reach. the shot gun i would have to recomend it the remington 700 pump action shot gun because of its reliability and there are so many parts that fit it you cann make it look any way you want, thats what my riot gun is just painted and things added to it, its the one i described in last message.

i might try and put a picture of me holding my riot gun up in a little bit so you know what im talking about and maybe my 50 cal. i named her black betty you know like the song except mine acctually goes bam balam.
