Commission Prices? do these prices sound ok to you?

General
Sketch 7$
line art 15$
Flat color 20$
Shaded 30$
additional character +5$
These are the prices I came up with last night after a long chat with some close friends of mine. I will probably kick myself for this decision later but these prices will NOT vary with character complexity.
i don't have examples yet, but i was thinking i could start off with dirt cheap commissions to use as examples for each.
let me know what you think.

FA+

then add more with complexity!
If you allow yourself to undercut yourself you'll get some really crappy commissioners that want more then what they pay for and it'll turn into a real headache in a flash. How do I know? It has happened to me before. Not fun.
You have some kickass work! <3<3<3
Also, how many slots do you plan to open for commissions? and is it extra for backgrounds?
i plan to have 3 slots for now.
backgrounds would be extra. for now i want to avoid them.i think i would offer backgrounds the next time i change the prices.
Say it takes you two hours to do one character; does it really only take you 15 minutes more if the picture involves two characters?
I guess the popular idea is that people should get a discount for buying more of something, but even walmart doesn't offer 75% off on your second item just for having bought a first. Just a thought. :I
Also, advice, suggestion, thingy...
Your work is good! You draw nice things, they are cool. Any lack of commissions is not going to be due to a lack of quality on your part, it's going to be a lack of exposure.
If you're going to go the low price route to start out, to attract customers, consider doing something (sketches maybe or little speed paints or whatever you like) at a low price to draw people in and get more exposure and more watches, etc. Undercutting yourself a bit on a sketch (charging $5 instead of $10 for example) is way way better for you than undercutting yourself on full colour stuff and only charging $20 when you should be getting $50+.
Also, if you accidentally take on too large of a work load, as many of us are prone to, you have a lot less to refund or trudge through. I don't know how experienced you are with taking commissions, so please don't take that as a personal attack or that I think you will screw up, you could be super awesome I have no idea! but it seems like a lot of people get in over their heads and take on too much work around here. That's much easier to manage though, if your too much work is ten sketches rather than ten full colour paintings.
I think that you should probably charge more for more complicated characters. I guess I don't mean little things like some spots or whatever, but some people around here, man, they have extra limbs and wings and penises growing out of other penises and you gotta look out for that stuff. o_o;
The one other pitfall to consider is that, and this is maybe not true across the board, but there are some pushy and entitled people around here and a lot of them just love to take advantage of artists with low prices. And complain loudly at artists with high prices! So you can't win either way, but don't let them intimidate you.
Anyway!
Your art is great.
Those are good starting prices.
I played "guess the price" with my girlfriend on that one and she said "At least $60 for that. That's really detailed." And I guess she doesn't buy a lot of art, but that's the style/type of art she usually purchases.
once i gain more confidence i will increase my price.
i find i have a habit of needlessly stressing myself out over nothing so i will take on three commissions at a time.
i will have to think about the additional character price and the how to price supper complicated characters. I'm just trying to decide how to work out the
price and keep it simple.
i tend to work slow so it probably would be a better idea to have higher prices, i just feel kind of guilty having high prices...
thank you very much for all your input. your being really helpful
