Guarantee a Commission at Anthrocon
General
TL;DR: There are 2 ways to commission me at Anthrocon:
1. Buy a reserve here so that you'll be guaranteed a slot at the con. DETAILS BELOW.
OR
2. Show up at my table (A5/A6). I'll be taking commissions until all the remaining slots are filled!
FIRST UP: You will be able to find me at table(s) A5/A6 under Illuminated Artists (organised by
Damaris & Darkmoon), which I will be sharing with
kelmar and
Missmab.
SECOND UP: This year I am limiting how many commissions I will be accepting at Anthrocon (~6 a day, ~18 total*); because my wrist still isn't 100% and because I actually want some time to sleep and hang out with my friends I only get to see once a year. 8C
So if there's anyone out there who definitely, totally doesn't want to chance missing out getting a sketchbook or loose-paper commission from me at the con (I will be accepting some take-home commissions but again, it'll be limited/conditional because I SUCK at sending back sketchbooks in a timely manner), based on an idea from a friend, I am setting up a reservation system.
How will this work? Simple: You buy a slot now-ish ($15), and when you get to the convention and find me on the specified day, you won't get turned away because I'm full up. Not selling all the slots because there'll likely be people who won't see this journal for various reasons.
Rules/Notes;
1: This is just to reserve/guarantee a SLOT, commission price is a separate, additional fee which is paid at the convention after we discuss/negotiate what you want.
2: Make sure you note me what your Badge-name will be, so I can give you a paypal address to send payment to and a password to use to identify you for extra security.: D
3: If you do not show up on the day you have a slot reserved, you have effectively given up your slot and will be refunded at the soonest available convenience.
4: The earlier you show up the better. Not so much a rule as just giving me extra time to get to work on your commission.
5: A guarantee'd slot does not mean I will automatically OK whatever it is you'd like me to draw; but I will do my best to accommodate your idea; A 5 character orgy in a luxury car garage next to a dragon statue might be a little hard to pull off in a day, but a massive-boobed sunbathing bunny herm wouldn't be as problematic.
6: To reiterate: You DO NOT have to buy a slot to get a commission from me at the convention; it's essentially insurance.
7: You are confirmed for a slot once payment is received.: )

*Depending on what kind of commissions I end up with I may take more or less a day.
So yeah, if you're interested in reserving a slot, just lemme know and we'll go from there!
Either way this goes, hope to see some of your guys at the convention and lets all have a good time. : )
ps: Haven't forgotten me backlog list; still working slowly through that. This journal is just for CONVENTION art.
pps: Avoiding responding to comments in this journal so it doens't get cluttered!

2) How can I sign up For Anthrocon that is
Also, can you clarify on rules 1,2, 6 and 7? They seem a little contradictory to me...
In all likelyhood, this will be my last trip to AnthroCon for a long while. After 12 years of going, things have become rather dull and expensive.
Frankly when I read this journal last night, it put me off. I know times are hard, but they are for all of us. I fully support capitalism and private enterprise, but when I make reservations for a resturant or phone for theatre or concert tickets, I don't have to pay an additional charge for the privalidge. I've worked in the theatre for the past 35 years and during the past five, I've worked with permanently damaged knees but I never asked for additional compensation.
I'm not trying to be a pain about this situation, but this is the first I've heard of anybody charging for reservations. Usually at the theatre, we just take credit card #'s to ensure people are guaranteed to show up.
