Apocalypse is both awesome and awful

toget pure awesome i suggest playing with people your own age who you know as friends, that way its a fun way to pass the time.
today there was a massive game of it at my local GW. it was pretty cool with the made up house rules about vortex grenades and stuff. but then i easily figured the downsides.
being chaos, i got paired with two other chaos players (it being teams of three in a free for all team match) one was a hyperactive 9 year old who had a mass of unpainted crap and no dice, ruler, templates or basic grasp of the rules.
the other was a guy nearer my age but who wouldnt shut the fuck up about his 'conversions' (painting things a coliur not shown on the box is apparenlty a conversion) and was the slowest dice roller, talker and thinker in the history of anything ever.
not surprisingly, i lost. By a lot.
i can see why apocalypse can be fun, if you get together with a few mates and some beer, but my experience of the game has so far been tainted (but not destroyed) by two complete goons who i'd only just met.
ill give proper thoughts on the game when i have a proper game
cheeiow!

Heh, you'll find that the enjoyment we get from most activities that we do on a social basis largely depends on the company we keep or the people we meet there. If it's all about playing with other people, after all...
