My update on AC. Ive secured crash space for my entire stay in Pittsburgh. It requires a room change almost every night, but I gets to be cubby every day or night either way = win.

This is quite an interesting story, that requires a some background to get all the necessary details.

I'm the sort of makes it a point to have every aspect of staying at the conventions that I attend taken care months in advance so that I'm not stressing at the last minute. Yes some of my friends put off getting their lodging done until the con is actually in progress, but they are popular enough that almost anyone will take them in at the drop of a hat -- I don't have that luxury.
Go back five months, I start asking quite a few babyfurs if they have any plans to be attending AC this year. All of them said no or weren't certain of their budgets just yet. Advance forward three months: I'm still asking around and post a blog on our local furry groups message board that I was seeking crash space (even if I had to skip being cubby at this con to crash with non-babyfurs) That would ultimately not generate any results. It was about this time that I began seeing a number of AC meme's journals posted on FA. WIth this new batch of names I started asking them, they of course said that their room was full or already over-flowing with cubs. Aaarrrgghhhh! Then there was the one timid one that said "Ummmmm I don't know you NO". No problem I understand the whole safety with strangers concern. Personally I don't see myself as being dangerous but my snoring on the other hand isn't frightning per se, rather it tends to be just annoying. Anyway I happen to see a journal by phloppybunny who was very much in need of getting one more person to add to his room to afford getting a room and ultimately going to AC. I of course jumped at securing two consecutive days staying with a babyfur. Then he says that he's crashing with thetakara a day prior to our scheduled roomshare. I ask Thetakara if there was space available for one more. The answer was yes, but they would only have that room 23 - 25. I still needed to find crash space on the 22 & 26. I see a journal from monstersids is going to AC I inquire of those two days and he says that he has space just for the 25 provided that Im ok with a very early morning checkout. That's fine with me. Now its just the 22 I need crash space for ..... I could always stay at the motel 6 over by the airport, as they just charge $50. per night but I rather be close to the convention area. I have a moment of inspiration when the website babyfur.me shortly came online. I created a group in which the idea is that anyone offering crash space could write their blog here to advertise it. The first person that did was Ari. I checked with her and she was hoping to have cubs stay the entire duration in her room rather than a day or two. Though understood my situation and was willing to accommodate. As it turns out Ari, thetakara, and phloppybunny will all be staying in the same hotel, Only on the 26th will I have to relocate over to the Westin. Its is a little bit of an inconvenience to change rooms like this, but it does give me the opportunity to see several cubs in person that I've only known online. I've heard there being rumors of a cubhub at AC but nothing absolute. Supposedly the cubhub is on livejournal that gives more specific details, but I seldom use livejournal as Im usually busy enough keeping up with FA and my emails.
